Our first tournament is Cannes Winter Clash, the first Capcom Pro Tour ranking event (You know, this one thing that was created Capcom used to justify rushing Street Fighter V out the door).

Cannes Winter Clash is a tournament in Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, 06400 Cannes, France, and features several games including Street Fighter V.

The games list is

Super Smash Bros. Melee (Singles & Teams)

Current entries for each event can be seen here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...9ikCn4AvBh59MIJIsl0adeeDk/edit#gid=2105027355

Last year Cannes Winter Clash featured Dieminion, Poongko, Sako, and Infiltration. While there aren't that calibir of heavy hitters already announced this year, there are still a stable of notable Street Fighter players.

Also, on Saturday after pool play will be two exhibiton matches on Team Spooky. The first one is Exectutor vs. Fanatic in Marvel vs. Capcom 2. The other one is FChamp vs. KaneBlueRiver in Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

BTW, Perfect Legend entered SFV at Winter Brawl. May he create a new 0-13 in a new game.

Next up is Anime Ascension!

An one day anime tournament at UCI, it is also organized by aksys games, making it into their first foray into tournaments organizing!

Here is the website: http://aksysgames.com/animeascension/

The games at Anime Ascension are Guilty Gear: Xrd Sign, Guilty Gear: Xrd Revelator, P4U2, UNIEL:ST, and BlazBlue:CPEX. There will also be a Guilty Gear XX Accent Core +R Side tournament.

That's it! I try to list as many as I can, if you have a tournament you want to highlight, please post it in the thread!

Note: If you have an interest in discussing the Fighting Game Community, consider joining the Fighting Game Community thread where we try to talk about what is happening in the FGC.

As always, if you see an infographic for a FGC tournament, it was likely made by acekingoffsuit. The guy makes stream schedules for every major tournament and he does it for free. You can find his twitter account here: https://twitter.com/acekingoffsuit

Also, Malice215's FGC Calendar was used to help get more information on tournaments. Malice215 (also a gaffer) spends much of his free time maintaining the FGC Calendar Malice215's twitter for his FGC Calendar is https://twitter.com/fgcevnts

I would like to be at Winter Brawl since it's 15 minutes away, but I have too much stuff to get done, so I'll be spending the weekend watching from home.

Daigo is also streaming today. There's also Tampa Never Sleeps and the Arcade Stream weekly for those who want to watch some Korean SFV action.

And usually I have to wait until the last minute for events to finalize their details, which means that I spent my morning making a bunch of updates. Hope it helps.

The champ gonna fight Champ the former champ. KBR would have a tough road here even if he was in peak form, and he is nowhere near that.

I think this is why I'm down on KBR at the moment. He claims he wants to live the Ryu lifestyle, but when he actually reached the peak of his game, he stopped playing but didn't seem to do anything else. Is he working full time? Is there another interest that's taking his time? I don't know, but I do know his Marvel play is not good right now, and he's going to get blown up.

I'm going to watch to see how bad the wreckage is going to be, not because I actually expect a race.

MAHVEL Exhibitions at Winter Brawl on Saturday!

Yipes has said he will be in attendance.

KBR vs FChamp in UMvC3? FChamp exhibitions are always a spectacle, and fighting the EVO champ makes it even more juicy. It's a ft15.

Also excited for the Marvel 2 exhibition! Let's hope Fanatiq has been practicing. At the top of his game he was a sight to behold, but I don't know how much of the magic is left. His opponent Xecutioner I'm not as familiar with, but I saw him play at Final Round and he is definitely skilled. Hoping for a good match.
Edit: Looking back through Fanatiq's twitter, he's been training in preparation for Saturday's match for the last month, taking it very seriously. Does anyone know how much money it's for?

The KBR/FChamp match is wack as hell on paper, but people were crying for half a year to see it happen. I'm sure it will be pretty hype since Philly usually has hype exhibitions and FChamp is such a skilled player, but I'm just ready to move on.

People forget how hype Marvel 2 was at NEC which was just 2 months ago, which is why Fanatiq is fighting in this exhibition. I'm looking forward to see how he does.

hyped

I've got to study a loss I took this morning to improve my play against Nash, but other than that my attention will be on the tournament.

Man, I haven't watched SFIV since SFV released, and I don't think I have the desire to. Good job Capcom.

Bro can you imagine if SFV launched on march with the march patch already installed and combined with the gameplay........My goodness what an amazing game it would have been. Casuals would have been happy, Regular players like you and me would be satisfied like we are now...Damn capcom all it had to do was release with march patch...Couldn't wait a month

Yo sonicfox is in this tourney playing SFV??? Lets gooooooooooo. I would love to see how he fare against the some of the best of SF. He has no challenger left in MK its free money to him now. Lets see if he can dominate SF world.

Thanks for mentioning Anime Ascension (T^T)

Second, we're (Aksys Games) the organizers. Needless to say, our first foray into tournament organization has been...illuminating...

I've learned many, many hard lessons.

Thanks, I'll update the info! I hope you guys do it again! Even though I probably won't be able to come to this one, I love that you're doing it at UCI, my undergrad school.
