Nvidia at Live GTC : DLSS 5

DLSS 5 is back and it looks incredible!
seems like the biggest jump in computer graphics since PBR introduction back around 2008-2010
cant wait. hope that it will be usable on my rtx 5090 though it is nvidia so they will probably just lock it to 60xx series next year.
back when they revealed it they already had it working on single 5090 in the labs despite showing journalists version running on two.

DLSS5 is coming this fall and it's for 5000 series and up

You will notice the test renders are all highly detailed. For now, DLSS5 might only make already great graphics slightly better.. I imagine the less detail is in the render, the harder it is for the algorithm to stay faithful..
Don't expect to run a game at low settings and to turn on DLSS5 for amazing graphics.

That Keynote sold me on DLSS5.
It actually looks pretty damn good and if modders can manage to unlock it for 4000 series im in, I aint getting a 5000 series GPU in this climate.
Also hope modders manage to unlock the parameters so we can tweak how much it affects the scene as in the demo.
But honestly everything Nvidia presented on AI and shit is actually kinda wild and I dont see this AI bubble popping anytime soon.
Theres so much they showed off.
MotionBricks looks amazing......damn if people actually use the tech Nvidia is introducing games are gonna look wild wild nextgen.
Time to start saving for the RTX 6080 I guess.
P.S All the motion generation stuff from everyone at Siggraph is looking good.
My biggest weakness has always been softbody animation animate a car, a product visualization or machinery or some random lettering shit im good, make that Ninja walk and im like dude im passing this on to someone else, this stuff is almost like magic but i guess it was inevitable.

As if that was a pre-release demo of a tech being worked on. Like about half a year prior to release. This was impossible to know back then. /s

I said back then that it's not a bad idea, but definitely needs to be worked on more to try to keep the original art style intact and make it look less like generic AI slop.

Yea in hindsight, they shouldn't have shown it early. It's like when game studios show early reels and they freak out because it's not perfect, a glitch, a bug, a crash, etc. They mostly stopped doing live demos on stage because of those type of reactions.

It's less about it being shown early and more about the particular way it was shown.
Their marketing wanted to make an impression, so they've pumped all the sliders and dials to 11 and made some screenshots and videos.
It was well known back then that this is hardly the only way to use the tech, that there are fairly granular dev controls, and that the tech itself isn't fully ready yet but the intent is to enhance, not to replace.
None of this was communicated properly.
Eh, whatever, this zoomer marketing or something is just really bad across all industries.
