One of the greatest actors of our time. Starred in a lot of my favorite movies. I'm deeply saddened by this.

BUT fucking shit why down that path

RIP Scotty.

When I saw The Master, I thought the final scene where he sang to Joaquin was kind of unintentionally silly...but thinking about it now makes me feel really heavy. That's going to be a hard part to watch now.

Of course it always has to be someone who has immense talent and skill that leaves this mortal coil too soon. It couldn't have been a Kardashian or miley or justin beaver or some other talentless famewhore. It had to be somone who I enjoyed watching do their craft to it's absolute highest peak.

Today fucking sucks. That man could make chicken salad out of chicken shit. Even in the smallest of roles he could take over the screen. Just reading this thread proves how talented he was. He was able to go all in to any character he was given and actually become that person. Making you forget for even a second that you were watching make believe.

RIP Phillip. No longer will you have to battle that gorilla on your back

Man this sucks.

He's been one of my favorite actors for such a long time now. Just completely owns every role he's played from his big movies like Capote, The Master, Moneyball to some of my personal favorites in Boogie Nights, Magnolia, The Big Lebowski, 25th Hour, Almost Famous.

Hell even flicks like Twister & Along Came Polly were perfect.

What sucks more is one of my friends who lives in NY said he saw him all the time just being a normal guy with his family. Going to coffee shops, eating out. Said he was one of the most humble guys he's met. It sucks addiction got the best of him...

RIP

To some people, sure. The truth is we look and see an actor with a family who abused illegal drugs and died foolishly.

Loved the guy, but just be honest about how this is accurately portrayed.

That is awfully close to being a dick. Addiction is just being foolish now?

It is. At some point in his life, he decided using heroin would be a good idea.

Cool. You have reduced every addict to just being a fool. No consideration that he may have been over prescribed pain killers, no consideration that he may have been foolish to try heroin but that addiction is not being foolish, it is a fucking disease.

I do not, I see an individual who died due to drugs. The legality of those drugs does not even enter into the equation. I wouldn't feel any different about this if he had died from an overdose of prescribed opiates.

Tragic news. I've always enjoyed PSH as actor. The guy had genuine presence a bit like Orson Wells. That slightly bullish demeanour that always left you wondering how he was going to react next. A genuine loss.

Yeah, other people dying would have been way better. Christ.

As opposed to the thousands dying from legal drugs? Fuck you.

I know you don't. I'm just talking about the general consensus be it right or wrong.

I didn't reduce every addict to being a fool, no. Many get hooked on prescription medication from no fault of their own.

Would never have thought he was into drugs. Shame. Great actor. RIP.

This is something that surprises me, because he has always had that look to me, that of a drug abuser or history of drug abuse. I can't explain what it was specifically about his look that did it, but the heroin news now and before was unsurprising to me.
