My wife wants a boob job. I've got mixed feelings.

She's visiting her sister, who got a boob job done years ago, and now she says she wants one.

I've got mixed feelings because:

1. Since the beginning I loved her boobs. The size never bothered me a bit.
2. When she got pregnant/was breastfeeding, her boobs got relatively big (the perfect size, in my book), and yet still perky. They were amazing. I grew accustomed to them.
3. When she stopped breastfeeding, they went down to the size they were before, but they were also less perky, since they'd previously been that bigger size.

So 3 makes me want to support her decision, but 1 & 2 make me worry that an unnatural boob job will never beat her natural boobs. I've seen too many boob jobs where the nipples were out of place, the boobs were a little misshapen, etc. They rarely seem to be perfect. Her natural boobs, when she's pregnant or breastfeeding, are absolutely perfect. So I don't want a boob job to ruin her perfect boobs. On the other hand, both she and I see how they're a bit less perky now, and she hates that she can't fill out swimsuits, etc., anymore. And the majority of her life she won't be pregnant/breastfeeding.

Anyway, GAF, she assigned me to research boob jobs (I'm much better at consumer research than her), so any tips on how to keep things from looking unnatural? I've heard silicone > saline, regarding naturalness. Anything else to keep an eye out for?

EDIT: To avoid derailing by "it's her body" cries, she's perfectly happy to hear and consider my input. So if we could please focus on the merits of the operation, and things to consider when selecting a procedure, I would appreciate it. Thanks.
 
As long as she is trying to do it to restore her breasts to what they once were I see nothing wrong with it. If she is getting them augmented so she can have a couple of torpedos, thats another story. Also no Saline, that never turns out well.
 
I imagine you gotta pay a good deal to get quality implants.

Empirical evidence has led me to believe that amount is greater than whatever a porn star makes.

fake boobs look good covered
less good when uncovered


that being said, they are her boobs. It won't change anything about how you view her.
If she wants to do it, and she has seriously considered all that could go wrong. then let her do it...

although if you are footing the bill i understand the hesitation
 
A well done boob job basically looks natural, in a too-good-to-be-true kind of way. It's the weird ones that most people think of. Well done plastic surgery is usually an improvement.
 
Couple questions:

Has she ever done surgery before? how is her pain tolerance?

I know someone who's done implants.

Exactly. It would definitely change my perception of them.
 
I'd give her the support she needs. Just find a GREAT doctor with extensive history of their work. Don't cheap out on some fly by night operation. She sounds like she wants a lift and a little more size, nothing outrageous.

But heh, i don't have a strong opinion on the subject either way.
 
The only time I have an opinion on these are when a woman's family has a history of breast cancer or related cancers. Lumps are much more difficult to find after implantation, both manually and with scans.
 
I think the main info that we're missing is, why does SHE want a boob job? Does she think that they're inadequate? If that's the case you'd be the best person to influence her decision on that. Since you two are married I feel like she would think that the boob job would be a treat for you alone. You appear to have a 2/3's majority vote in favor of naturals, so you may as well go that route.
 
I don't know, i've thought about this myself with regards to my wife, like what if?

I din't know of the hardness of fake boobs would be worth it if you already love her naturam boobs like i do with my wife's. Sure i also miss her pregnant boobs but nothing beats natural.

Unless there's a way to male them feel natural or at least not so stiff afterwards.
 
Those instantly writing off fake tits haven't experienced a good boob job, imo.

That said, I'd say it's her decision...however you can caution her to not take this lightly. My wife is probably going to get this done this year, but we've been discussing it for about 3 years now (and she's considered it a lot longer than that).


Find an exceptional doctor! You absolutely do get what you pay for!

He's also her husband, he has a say in it and he's said he likes them the way they are and they are perfect. Ultimately it is her choice, but you've got to wonder why she's feeling the need to want to fill out swimsuits.

I'm kind of against plastic surgery, but that's just me. I've seen girls my age get horrendous implants and just look ridiculous while I've seen others get them and they look incredible and change the way they look, for the better if we were to gauge current standards of beauty in society.

A plus for OP wife is she is past breastfeeding point so it's not a negative there anymore. OP also remember that if she's rather active, huge boobs are not great for things like running on strenuous activities all the time.
 
They're very small right now, like a size A, but even that apparently is a bit loose on her. Like I said, their smallness never bothered me, as I've never been a huge boob guy (much more of a butt guy, and her butt's always been incredible). But I'd be lying if I said the bigger size wasn't a nice bonus when it came along. I don't really mind their current small size, but it's been bugging her.

Oh, and the "it's her body" people: Of course it is. Who said I was trying to control it? But that doesn't mean I can't try to convince her in one way or the other on the matter.

I get what you mean. I am not trying to say you are a bad guy or anything like that. Just the way you wrote it doesn't make sense.

You owe it to her to make the best decision for her happiness and health. (and yeah yours too). I think you are doing that. wasn't trying to imply anything
 
idk i wouldn't want any plastic in my wife unless it were absolutely necessary

everytime i'd look at her boobs i'd think wow those are not real though, and i'd feel em and i'd know those are devices underneath her skins

i always frowned upon these type of implants, that guy called ryan reynolds has ab implants, what a douche!
 
My girlfriend told me she wanted some a while back and my initial response was NO WAY. Basically because I love her boobs and stuff.

However recently I feel like her feeling sexy would be a lot more important than my personal feelings about her body.

So if she wants them I say she should get them.
 
Fake boobs suck. They'll never be as good as the real thing. She should get them tightened up if it's a childbirth thing.

I ended a relationship over fake boobs once. They are a nightmare.

Don't have an overfull implant, and cut the pocket bigger. Also, silicone will produce better results than saline, although in the past there have been concerns with silicone (implant technology has come a long way since then).
