MLB Offseason '13-'14 |OT| Where the best fans live

Just saw David Price's agent, Bo McKinnis, in lobby. Asked if Price would consider extension with #Mariners. Said no. MORE

Asked McKinnis if Price would consider extensions with other teams. Said yes. Asked which clubs. He declined to answer.

That's pretty brutal. If I were a Seattle fan, I'd say fuck that guy.

I'm not sure that Price even makes the Ms that team that can hold down a lead in the West, tbh. You basically turn into the Phillies except Price isn't coming off his greatest year last year with his injury. Seems like a big gamble but maybe the prospects they give up are considered to be flukey on their possible returns.

Corey Hart exepected to decide where he's going to strike out 170 times soon.

A few weeks ago, I put my coworker, who is a big Brewers fan, onto GAF and MLB-GAF in particular, and he's been lurking since then. Today, he burst into my cube yelling "How do I get an account on GAF? People are talking shit about Corey Hart!"

This year's winter meetings has been boring as hell so far, but that's not surprising considering how crazy last week was. Still, where the hell are the crazy trades?!

Excellent piece by The Daily News on Curtis Granderson

Do we call him the Grandy Man, or come up with a nickname of our own?
The Mets are willing to give up their top draft pick (a third rounder) to sign free-agent Stephen Drew, but they’ll need to free up payroll to be able to sign him
... has his market dried up? Mets were supposed to have no shot at him.
12:42 pm: The Mets are firmly asking the Brewers for RHP Tyler Thornburg in a deal for Davis (McCalvy, Dec. 11).
I find this deal acceptable.

Must be weird for Mets fans to actually have a professional outfielder on their team.

The Beltran they got always had knee problems.

Maybe they can bring back Benny Agbayani?

Completely fine with Price saying he wouldn't sign an extension here.

I hope that completely stops Jack from doing anything with him.

Just fucking sign one of Garza/Colon/Ubaldo hell even Ervin Santana and I'd be ok. Keep Walker and Zunino!

Beltran gave us a few great years

I never really understood the facial hair thing.

On the other hand, it cost the Yanks Brian Wilson, so maybe its a good thing.

Its about being professional and not looking like an outcast from duck dynasty.

Wasn't there a story about how Jeter and other Yankees hated Kenny Lofton because he wasn't professional in attire and demeanor when coming to the locker room?

Fucking yes. We got Corey Hart.

Smoak can play 1B against RHP, Hart can play 1B against LHP ... and RF or something when not playing FB.

We really need some more right handed bats not named Nelson Cruz. I like this move.

Hart will do what he does. He'll play a decent 1B, not walk, strike out a ton, but do lots of damage when he connects.

32 years old, missed an entire year with an injury and going from a hitters park to the worst park in baseball. I'm sure it'll work out well.

Still I wish the Rays signed him. Hard to find anybody on the cheap in this market.

Sounds like sour fucking grapes.

Safeco was neutral last season. Mariners were 6th in all of baseball in the amount of HRs hit at home.

Apparently his video he put together of himself resuming baseball activities was impressive.
