"Assembled in USA"? So the parts are still made in China?

Yes. By machines. The factories to produce the parts don't exist in the United States at the moment.

Honestly, I'm surprised the price is as low as it is for the entry Mac Pro considering the typical Apple premium and the fact that they are manufacturing domestically.

I want that new 13" rMBP so fucking bad but I need dat quad core.

My current classic MBP with 16GB of ram has worked very well for me but it definitely struggles when I have to do work with After Effects. I think the quad core will also future proof it better.

But dat form factor. Ugh.

What do I do guys T_T

I guess we won't know what other configs you can set the 15" rMBP to until after the conference and the store is back up.

I picked up my iMac from Apple store a week ago. There should be no problem returning it today and having them place an order for the 15" right?

Burn that shirt. French cuffs are the worst.

I will totally fucking buy a MBPr at $1299.

Edit: Fuck, I wonder how much it will cost to upgrade the RAM to 8GB.

Oh. The new UI for iLife on OS X. I wonder if it's a hint of what we'll be getting with 10.10 next year. (Seeing as Mavericks is already out and nothing was changed from the DP's.)

Can't wait to order a rMBP. Kinda wish the iris pro was in the 13" just for the extra power if needed, but whatever. Mac pro looks bananas.

Did he just say you can have 32 tracks if you have a 64 bit system....so it works on iphone and ipad....according to my knowledge there is no 64 bit ipad.

I have to say, the "Unified Thermal Core" on the Mac Pro is pretty clever if it works as well as they say it does. One large, low RPM fan to cool the entire system. Nice.

We've officially in the Xander Zone.
Don't be a dick, dick.

I’m trying to imagine navigating through 32 tracks on an iphone screen. It’s hard enough to keep track on a large computer display.

I guess the 12GB of RAM on the Pro is much faster and better quality than the 16GB ones I bought last year? I dont really know how much about computer hardware.

ECC and workstation parts cost a premium. Even worse in a small form factor device. It's fast but workstation parts are mainly about accuracy and featureset - often video cards are outright slower than the gaming stuff but have core rendering features the gaming stuff doesn't have at all or just can't render fast enough.
