San Andreas is still miles ahead of Saints Row in how enormous and alive the city felt, not to mention the quality of dialogue and voice acting and production values in general.

That's what I mean. GTA 4 was so conservative and serious in comparison to the previous games. I also don't like Saints Row. That's too crazy. All I want is to see some of the spirit of San Andreas in the new game.

Yeah, GTA IV didn't butter the bread for everybody but it buttered mine enough to be my game of the generation so far. I fully expect GTA V to surpass it in every way.

They took everything out that san andreas had...
Planes, parachutes, tanks, offroad bits etc then put a gimped no fun allowed one time use parachute and an APC back in through fuck you give me money dlc.
Then they added a focus on covershooting.

Just cause 2 is a game where you make your own fun and where it isn't spoonfed, I love that game.
Gta4 was not such a game. The only sandboxy thing about it were the pedestrian physics which were great.

I thought a lot of people on gaf were dissapointed in gta4's gameplay, but hey when the marketing hype for the next AAA release is full steam ahead you get lambasted for reminding people the last game was dissapointing to many.

I had the same sentiment months ago. But by now, Watch_Dogs doesn't seem that interesting anymore. I don't know why.

Not me. Recent footage of the game from E3 and Jimmy Fallon's Show...Watch_Dogs doesn't look all that great. Everytime Ubisoft shows more of it, it makes the game look worse.

Planes didn't make any sense considering the condensed nature of the city so hat wasn't a big deal to me. parachutes were introduced in TBOGT, tanks...the APC was dumb and just felt out of place so a tank wouldn't have been any better. They added activities that you may not have liked, I take it.

What's really ridiculous is an avatar quote in place of an actual counter argument as to why "Watchdogs looks like Dog shit" isn't just silly forum hyperbole.

Anyway definitely looking forward to GTA V and i hope it's closer to San Andreas( aka the BEST GTA game, IMO) than GTAIV. Which while good, just wasn't quite as fun to play as SA was.

I want to see somebody running around, because holy fuck was movement of everything GTA4 awful. This might be the first GTA that actually PLAYS well, from the movement, to the combat, the vehicles(with a proper camera angle that doesnt' fuck you over when you do a proper fast turn around a corner).

And for the love of all that is holy, do NOT make me mash a button to run. This is 2013. We have sprint buttons now.

Yeah I have. It does look interesting, I just meant I'm hesitant to jump right in with this on day 1 because how I really did not like 4 at all.

I'll definitely be waiting for reviews from gaffers and actual regular people before I buy it.
