Is it me or does Conan not do that bit where he moves out of frame, sneaks up underneath the camera, then jumps up and hisses? I used to love that.

Oh, shit, I just realised I can apparently watch full episodes of this on teamcoco.com so I've been missing out for two years. It says "US only" but plays just fine. I'm like five years behind on all the shit that's been going on with late night TV too!

How's this show been lately? Just watching skits uploaded to the Youtube channel nothing recent really stands out as hilarious, but maybe that's just because I'm comparing to a 20 year backlog of stuff like SlipNutz where you can get all the payoff of a four-year running joke in ten minutes.

Changing the name of In The Year 2000 to In The Year 3000 is dumb as hell (I totally missed this shit when it happened four years ago). That was half the joke.

Can't wait for Leno to have his last episode to know what he'll say if anything, and to know how Fallon will deal with it. His kind of show is great, but it's sort of a funny contrast to Conan's deep reverence for the very name of The Tonight Show.

This is all old already discussed shit because I stepped out of watching late night TV, shit.

It wouldn't be very hard to assemble a "best of" from the past few years of the show. Just put every single Conan remote and you're pretty much set.

Not that funny bits don't happen inside the studio, but the writing has been the weakest link ever since the show moved to TBS (and to a lesser extent since the TTS) while Conan has remained as funny as ever.

Worth the double-post, but I think this is amazing:
Rebel Wilson Got Her Own Show!

Well it’s pilot season in the States — and Rebel Wilson, Australia’s favourite and rudest export, announced overnight in an overexcited Tweet that her series, Super Fun Night, has been picked up by ABC in America (after being bought and then dropped by CBS).
Screen shot 2013-05-13 at 7.28.51 AM

It’s just another notch in the winning-streak-belt for Rebel, which kicked off with her role in Bridesmaids, continued through Bachelorette, Pitch Perfect and Pain And Gain, and most recently saw her hosting the MTV Movie Awards with Channing Tatum.

Super Fun Night is co-produced by Conan O’Brien, co-stars Kelen Coleman, (The Mindy Project, The Newsroom), Kevin Bishop (The Kevin Bishop Show), Lauren Ash (Lars And The Real Girl) and Liza Lapira (Don’t Trust The B In Apartment 23), and follows Wilson — a geeky lawyer — who, with her two geeky friends, decides to start making the most of their Friday nights.
So is this the next Conaco big project after Eagleheart?

So I'm catching up on my DVR viewing

Started 4/19 episode (yeah I'm back there lol)

Why is it when Conan during a joke says Holy Shit, it feels so refreshing

I was listening and a little tired, he say's Holy Shit, that got my attention hella fast

"Wealthy people curse more joke..."

I HATE how TBS runs ads for upcoming segments while the show is airing.

I'm already watching the show, you don't need to convince me to watch anymore!

I guess because some just watch the monologue and then lose interest. It's to keep people reeled in the entire show.

And to be fair, there have been times where I change the channel after the monologue because the guests just aren't interesting me to continue watching.

Where's Alice Eve?

As much as I like Tig Notaro, I swear I just saw her on Conan some time ago, doing the same sort of interview (read: random :lol).

Edit: Nevermind. There we go. Conan's pretty packed tonight: Ed Helms, Tig Notaro, Alice Eve, and the cast of Workaholics.

Was a few months back (I think), where she had her friend call up in the middle of the interview. I like her, and *loved* the standup she did about her cancer.

Yep. That was great. I honestly thought they somehow cut the broadcast and replayed that interview, then I looked at the time and saw what was happening. :lol

I think he's referring to how god damn fucking HOT Alice Eve was! Hoooly shit. I think she just became my new #1 crush.

Anyone else feel kind of awkward when she comes out with her boobs busting out then sitting next to Tig who had to have hers removed due to cancer?

On the other hand Tig is gay, so she probably didn't mind too much.
Huh, there you go. Her sexuality was never mentioned and I always suspected, but never assumed and to be honest, never really thought about it that much.

Alice Eve was umm... what's-his-name's love interest at the end of Entourage, yes?

People who dislike Conan find him unfunny because his humor goes right over their head.

People who dislike Leno find him unfunny because they can see his punchlines coming a mile away.

Thus, Conan fans are empirically right.

I find Leno unfunny because he tells old people jokes and lame jokes. He's bland and boring and I'm not sure he was ever funny.

He was before he got the Tonight Show. His Tonight Show writing is neutered safe jokes compared to his standup career.

Dude had talent and just turned himself off.

I swear the "late wooers" and "no porn on Google Glass" jokes were in both tuesday's and wednesday's monologue. The Google Glass one was literally the same joke. Cue card screw up?

Sometimes they'll re-use the same setup over a few days with different punch lines, but that's the first I hear of re-using an entire joke. Weird.

But pretty fucking dumb on TCM part not having Letterman doing this.
Conan wasn't a huge fan of Carson like Letterman & Leno were.

He was a huge fan, but as someone from a younger generation, didn't have the chance to work in the business at the same time as Carson, like Letterman/Leno were.

What? Conan grew up watching Johnny Carson with his dad. Hosting the Tonight Show was his life-long dream and that has a lot to do with Johnny Carson.

Also, knowing Letterman he would (and may) have refused the gig... notice how he has been virtually absent from the media outside of his show for many years.

He probably stopped doing it because of the widescreen format. He'd have to jump pretty far to go from the middle of the screen to outside the frame, and back again.

My boyfriend and I just went to a live taping of Conan. He is naturally hilarious, and it was super interesting to see how the show works.

Any interesting details you might want to share? It's been a dream of mine to attend a live taping of Conan, but all my American friends and relatives live on the East Coast:(

On another note: Apparently, Conan was at E3! Please let me know if the're a segment on it in the show, I don't watch all episodes these days.
