I kinda feel the same way. Or at least, I hope Versus is cross-gen PS3/PS4. SE has never done that (to my knowledge), so it seems a little unlikely. I just don't plan on getting a PS4 for a while, and since Versus has been (supposedly) a PS3 game since it was announced, I'd be a little bit annoyed if there wasn't at least a version on that system.
But I can understand why people would want it on PS4.

There won't be many third-party exclusives next-gen though. Besides why would Sony go after them when they have so many internal studios to manage? Makes no sense, really.
As much as I like SCEWWS there is no denying that third party games are a bigger draw than most of Sony's IPs

If they do end up crossing generations, I think it could be some time after the release on the PS3 before an 'updated' version comes out on the PS4, but not at the same time.
Somehow "Versus XIII"-branded PS3s and PS4s just flashed into my head releasing alongside the games...

Sony is doing the right thing by making partnerships with things like Destiny. Microsoft had it right with call of duty. You secure advertising exclusivity. Worth more than paying up for a game.

Welcome, but dont get your hopes up to "watch" gaf live during E3. The servers will invariably will crash but its not your fault.

Yeah, I think the PS3 version would probably come out first if they were going crossgen with it.
I don't claim to know much about the business side of things, but I just don't think it would be in SE's best interest to release Versus exclusively (PS4 only) on a system with a small install base. I'd guess they need good sales to make up the cost of such a big game. I suppose if that rumor about Sony helping fund/make the game ended up being true, it could kinda make sense (but I don't really believe that rumor, anyways). A PS3 version would still drive quite a lot of sales, and in fact, as soon as I got a PS4, I'd buy that version, too. I'm sure others would also buy both versions if given the option.
Maybe this is just me trying to rationalize why a PS3 version makes sense because I want it on that system.

I really hope Versus is Cross gen at worst. I don't plan on keeping my PS3 and I really, really don't want to get stuck with it just to play it. Initially missed FFXII and P4 for the same reason last gen and I don't wanna do that again.

One week countdown.
They're bigger than Dead Rising and Mirror's Edge. The major 3rd party franchises aren't going to be exclusive to either side.
Nothing really in particular, but its the one week countdown. Hype will be at it's peak. Who knows maybe even some leaks. Either way we're in for exciting times.
I really hope the people around here are doing something to hold the servers up.

Because if I wait too long it'll be really, really hard for me to get rid of it. After TLoU, there's basically nothing "binding" me to it. The other games I want are either going Cross gen or are looking very likely to go that route - MGSV and LoS 2 I'm looking at'cha. That leaves what, Drakengard 3 and Yakuza 5 which don't seem to be leaving Japan anytime soon if at all. P5 is looking like a next gen game at this point.
Don't get me wrong, no way I'm getting a PS4 at launch, but no way I'm keeping my PS3 into 2014 either.

Pretty much sums up my thoughts. If it's them, I don't mind CG at all, their stuff is that damn good I'm fine with it being used whenever appropriate and especially for those moments. Looking at that stunning last trailer from a while back I'd be shocked if we're not blown away by their CG once again.
Man, even after all these years my hype hasn't lessened, despite countless disappointments of it being a no-show, for this game and it's world design. Most games the hype would have just fizzled by now.

Why? It's not like it'll be a launch title, plus it can be a system seller if S-E plays their cards right. Final Fantasy still has a strong name even if the franchise has seen better days, a good non-XIII showing would get people hyped for sure.
