Arrested Development Season 4: The Bluths are making new mistakes!

I'm thinking of doing my Second viewing in say mid April. Time it in a way I'll finish the 3rd season a day before the 4th comes online.

I sincerely can't believe we're going to be getting 14 new episodes on a single day.

Are you guys preparing a binge watch or split them up? I'll probably do two sessions, depending when they premiere.

Remind me to avoid Twitter for as long as it takes for me to finish the fourth season.

It'll be fun to have them all at once, but the potential for spoilerage is massive.

Shutting off my phone, locking my door, watch em all in a single setting. Read stuff on the internet about that I may have missed, watch them all again.

edit: we should do a GAF WATCHES ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT S1-3 leading up to the premiere.

I'll probably split it up into a few chunks and do 3-4 episodes a day. I lose focus after a couple of hours when marathoning television and it has a negative impact on my viewing experience.

The only way I'd be able to binge watch would be if the went up on a Saturday morning or something like that.

They are releasing House of Cards on a Friday, so could be the same.

I'm calling in sick.

This is an idea. I'm sure they're will be widespread TBA epidemics on release day. I'll definitely have to host a whole day viewing.

I'll have to make sure everybody is up to speed before hand though.. maybe hand out a study guide.

I will not be able to stop myself. I've seen every episode a million times, the idea of more episodes is completely surreal to me!

I had a dream that the new season was terrible. I woke up so sad. Expectations are sky high. I'm still confident it will be amazing though.

Shit, just realized my sister's graduation AND my cousin's wedding are BOTH in May. My luck for a free weekend just dwindled. I'll have to tell them to reschedule.

Usually two episodes a day is what I do with comedy's. I can process every joke but even then with AD it's hard, what with how layered it is.

As much as I want to split them up to process them better, I wont have the self-control to not watch them all at once. It's why I was hoping they'd release only one or two a week to force it.

Has David Cross lost weight to get back into the role? He got really big in 2011/2012. Or are they going to write that in.

Michael: Wait. Tobias, Tobias...do you work here?
Tobias: Do I work here...I developed an eating disorder from being your assistant, Michael!
Michael: I never saw you at the desk.
Tobias: Well, excuse me if I was too busy on my knees in front of the toilet, Michael!

I'm glad Netflix isn't appeasing those with horrible self control and is enabling me, someone who actually wants to marathon the whole thing, to do so!

@tvoti
I have been told Arrested Development is a non-season four, 14-part single episode of the show that's a prologue to a movie. There IS an episode order that is set up to preserve the most surprises. But you CAN watch in any order. #tca13

Cool. Seems like Netflix is the perfect platform then.

Hurwitz: "There are going to be surprises that will be ruined by spoilers, but that would have happened anyway." #ArrestedDevelopment

Hurwitz says Netflix helped Steve Van Zandt understand the drop-all-episodes-at-the-same-time strategy as comparing it to songs on an album.

I think this may be one of the most innovative pieces of TV in a while. It has potential to be genius if they pull it off.

Um, I really hope the movie actually gets made.
Maybe the record breaking Netflix debut this makes will convince some exec to pull the trigger. Fingers crossed.

A "deleted" scene from the show being shown to critics:

Lucille smoking a cigarette, but not allowed to, blows smoke into Buster's mouth +then he exhales out the French door.

All this news makes me

Someone should ask him if that Reddit dude's stuff about season 4 is going to make it in.

I just think it's weird for Netflix to spend what I assume to be a good amount of money on these shows and then just put them all up at once. It doesn't make sense to me. I know a lot of people like that but I like to talk about individual episodes as they come out in threads / with friends.

I mean they offer a free month. It would be a good idea (from a business sense) to space it out because you could see 4 episodes for free and then pay if you like it. Instead you can get the free month watch AD and House of Cards, then cancel.

I hope they keep the bleeps.

Same.

Me too!

When people watch television shows on Netflix, every single episode of that season is available for them to watch whenever they want. That's what people are used to and it would be way too weird for Netflix to only do one episode a week.

That isn't how this season is structured though. They're playing to the strengths of the Neflix format so it's like one big 14 part episode, and not 14 individual standalone episodes.

That's different though. Those shows have already been on TV. It makes no sense to stagger those.

Yes, but there are a lot of people that didn't watch those shows on TV and are watching for the first time on Netflix. A LOT of people. Netflix is catering to that audience.
