Let's talk fast food.

I wanted some Panda Express so bad last night. Orange chicken, Beijing beef, and chow mein... the triplets of the gods.

Panda_Express.jpg

I resisted, though. Can't lose weight eating delicious things like that!

I order the exact same thing! Although, I haven't had Panda Express in a long time. Must be almost a year. I used to eat it so much on my lunch break that I would get sick from eating it...and I fear that if I order it again (almost a year later) I'll puke.

Sadly, I really love fast food. Since I turned 30, however, I've learned that I must avoid it at all costs. My body can burn through those calories so effortlessly anymore :(

McDonald's near me has some deal where you get 20 mcnuggets for 5 bucks. I don't think I would ever need 20 mcnuggets, but it seems like a heck of a deal. The dipping sauces are the best thing about them.

But McDonalds has a strict sauce policy now which sucks. 1 sauce for 6 piece, 2 for a 10 piece, and 3 for a 20 piece. Each additional sauce is 25cents + tax. Being the sauce boss that I am, I usually buy a couple extra.

So one McDonalds near me is advertising a new Spicy McChicken for $1. I'm not trying it cause most Doritos are too spicy for me, but would love to hear if it compares to Wendy's sandwhich

Spicy McChickens are the ONLY $1 McChickens here in Texas. They are good, but the breading is more spicy than nacho cheese doritos

Sometimes they will give you extra sauce for free, but I really don't see the need for more than three per 20.

On day 5 of my vacation, been eating mostly fast food. In-n-Out is still the best I've had this trip, tasty and fast and cheap.

Had fatburger tonight for dinner, wasn't bad just over priced and not as good as In-n-Out (kinda telling that the fatburger was empty but the In-n-Out across the street was packed full) Jack in the box was bad, but at least I didn't pay much (yay for terrible Colorado defense, Arizona put up 45+ points so everyone with a ticket stub got free tacos!)

Best idea for food that needs to spread though was a combo of Chinese food and Mexican food I had today for lunch. A national chain needs to do this quickly, because it was damn good. I had General Tso in a burrito with Mexican style beans, it may sound strange but it works.

Can't wait to get back home and on my regular diet though :(

thinkin i might go to mac d's tonight .. what should i get? i ate a big mac last week so thats out. nuggetz? is the mc rib there right now?

I ate a lot of Fatburger last fall. If you want a unique experience at Fatburger, you gotta ask them to crack an egg in your burger. If you're not going to do that, then stick with In-N-Out because Fatburger's are nothing special otherwise.

Angus Homestyle combo. If they don't offer it, then try the CBO since it's just promotional and wont be around after next month

Those $1 spicy McChickens are probably the most spicy fast food chicken sandwich out there.

Had 36 Wendy's nuggets and XXL steak nachos from taco bell last night with a friend. So good.

I think today I am getting In N Out...or Del Taco...hmm

It can be, but most of the time they drench that sucker with mayo which cancels out some of the spice. If it's still too spicy, take out the patty and peel off some of the breading.

I order it without mayo usually. Cuts down on the calories and I can enjoy the spicy deliciousness more.

I think Taco Time has the best hot sauce of any fast food place. I usually fill 3 of those little plastic containers.

Taco Bell is alright too. I'd grab fistfuls of those hot sauce packets every time.

Oh yeah the hotter the better for me as well. For a few months sometime back in 2011 they had a $1.49 spicy chicken sandwich with a jalapeno relish. Made it twice as spicy and twice as delicious. I wish they would bring it back.

Has anyone had In-N-Out & Shake Shack burgers? Do they taste similar? I live in NYC and wish I could get some In-N-Out :(

Dunno what it is, but however Shake Shack made their burgers when I had it, I was fighting to finish it - perhaps the grease. I ate a double double at In-N-Out once I got home with no problems...

Both burgers taste fresh but I couldn't really taste the meat from the Shake Shack burger with all the toppings. I can taste the meat despite being Animal Style at In-N-Out - and that patty is cooked with mustard in it.

How are those steak nachos?

It's their regular nachos (which I already love) but with guacamole and some pico de gallo I think. The steak was a bit hard to eat because it was such big chunks. I think I would prefer the beef version.

Ended up getting a double double. Win.

I'm sure it does. Is that why it's struggling to stay open? is that why Quizno's is local? Is what why 1000 locations closed from 2007-2009?

i really do like quiznos over subway because of all their meaty subs like angus and prime rib that are godlike, but it is just too expensive. i have never had a regular cold cut sub at quiznos, only subway. not to mention quiznos just added a bunch of new menu items that should help with sales. 2 out of 3 near me have closed already.

McD / Jack in Box

^my quick attempt at a ranking. I don't really eat any fast food except for the top tier anymore.

As a side note, has anyone looked at nutritional info for Hardee's (known to some as Carl's Jr.) burgers??? It's truly shocking (and revolting). The average caloric load for one of their burgers is somewhere in the 1300-1600 range. Even the kid-sized ones! That's burger only, no fries and no drink. Burgers aren't even that good (BK is the king of the mediocre burgers, for me).

Man, this thread has made me realize how shitty my town is for fast food. All we have is the normal restaurants like McDonald's, Burger King, KFC, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and the usual pizza places. We HAD a Rally's and a Hardee's but they both closed down. I've never once seen an In-and-Out, Whataburger, Five Guys, Jack in the Box, or Panda Express. =/ Ohio is terrible.

i agree with that list.

i honestly dont think any kind of fast food is healthy...

Thanks to this thread I had Popeye's tenders the other day for lunch. My local only has mild, so I was disappointed there. However, the sweet chili sauce was good, and the blackened ranch is otherworldly.

How is that even possible? The biggest McDonald's burger over here, the Big Tasty Bacon, has less than 900 calories, and that's a thirdpounder with cheese, Bacon and a lot of sauce.

I was honestly disappointed by the spicy Tenders, they taste pretty one-dimensional. I preferred the mild ones.

So sad that we don't have Popeye's over here...

Oh, and Tampa fast food burger rankings:

Five Guys (kind of cheating) > Whataburger (gone :( ) > Sonic > Hardee's > Wendy's > BK > Checkers > Mc D's.

So I'm going on a diet, which means my fast food intake is going way down. =( I admit I have been eating it for too many meals lately though, but it's so good and so quick. Now every time I go out to get fast food I'm going to make sure it is absolutely what I want, no more settling for convenience's sake.

The Mardigras Mustard is my fave. Always spicy tenders all the time for me at Popeye's.

I had one of the new premium grilled chicken sandwiches from Sonic today. Asiago cheese, with romaine lettuce, tomato, ceasar drassing on a ciabatta. Pretty solid but a little pricey.

When I want fast food but don't want to eat terrible I usually get a grilled chicken wrap minus ranch + light on the mustard from Sonic. Couple that with an apple or some baby carrots and some almonds and I could do a lot worse.

When I just want something cheap and fast at work I usually do 3 beef fresco style tacos from TBell with fire sauce. The pico helps those so much.

Hard to justify going to Carls Jr for any burgers now that there is a Five Guys about 2 miles away. Carls is for guacamole turkey burgers.

I love Jack in the Box just for it's variety, and also for the fact that most seem to be open 24/7 (Drive-thru) and do breakfast all day long.

Man, I loved that thing! Too bad they havent brought it back. For a short while earlier this year, a McDonalds nearby offered that jalapeno sauce in little packets.. it was amazing with nuggets. Sadly, I havent seen that sauce in a few months.

Oh well, the Mcdonalds near my house doesn't have spicy mcchickens. However, I ordered two regular ones without mayo and a small fries. Damn! Talk about making a difference. I don't think the mayo ever added much to the taste. And the regular mcchickens are actually kinda spicy. I just never tasted it without the slathering of mayo. So yeah, Mcchickens without the mayo are pretty good.
