I'm selling a genesis model 2 to somebody including a RF adapter, two controllers, a game, and the AC adapter to somebody. For shipping with USPS is there any advice you guys could give? I've never sold a console online before. I've got all the items bagged with good padding. Anything else I should do?

I personally wrap it a few times with bubble wrap (maybe 2 layers thick on all sides) and then pack it tightly with peanuts/air pillows/etc to make sure there is no movement while shipping. Sometimes I wrap the entire system in a trash bag first if there's any concern of major rain in the delivery area around the day it is due for drop-off, but that's only the extreme case. But, really, there isn't any "trick" to it.

Everything is in a grocery bag. I hope that's enough.

Use a flat rate box. Should fit in a medium.

Looking for Torchlight II for $15 (Steam). Anyone doing a 4 pack? If not, I'd be willing to host if 3 like minded individuals will join me. :)

Just looking for some ebay advice.
I mailed a game to a buyer through Canada Post letter mail on the 9th, then last thurs they messaged me that the game hasn't arrived yet. I replied back assuring them I mailed the game, politely explained that it can take up to 14 days for mail to arrive as per Canada post and the package should be there soon. I checked today (I've been working all weekend), and they filed a claim against me. When I checked in paypal it required a tracking number to dispute the claim. I had no idea I needed to purchase tracking in order to be protected as a seller. So long of the short of it, unless the buyer is going to be honest and report when they receive the game, I am pretty much at a loss for this sale?

I should state that I have sold over a hundred items but have never once had an issue. When it comes to this kind of stuff I am extremely ignorant on how to proceed.

Yes, you're basically boned unless the buyer wants to be honest (assuming they are lying about not receiving it). PayPal has no way to validate what you're saying without some kind of delivery confirmation. Take it as a lesson learned - as a seller - ALWAYS get tracking at an absolute minimum. That has even f'd me over so now I spring for insurance and signature as well. You can never be too safe and it's only a few extra dollars.

Unfortunately, you're pretty much out of options as a tracking number is essentially your only form of defense in situations like these.

To make matters worse, eBay almost always sides with the buyer once a claim is opened against a seller. It's for this reason that tons of people (including myself) avoid the place and consider it nothing more than a last resort when trying to sell items.

Lessons I follow on eBay:

1) Only ship within your own country (luckily for me, that's the U.S.)
2) Always get tracking
3) Always insure/get signature confirmation on expensive packages
4) Communicate often with your buyer
5) Cross your fingers

I'm about 125+ transactions deep with selling on eBay and haven't had a single problem yet following the above guidelines.

Positive Feedback for The Insane Dufresne (accidentally hit the Italics button - I'm leaving it)

999: Nine Something, Nine, Something, Nine Something arrived in fine condition in a right quick manner. The DS isn't charged to try it but I'll assume it works perfectly and if it does not than I shall stomp and scream.

Thanks for the advice everyone... Sucks, but hopefully the buyer will be honest when the package arrives, provided this isn't a Can Post f-up. Funny thing is the buyer is in Canada, but can't communicate with me in English as they speak french.

Edit: Oh wow, just checked his history and out of the 15 things he had bought he reported three of them as not received. Hate to think the worst of people but he looks like a scam artist.

I have one copy of the Saints Row 3 Franchise Pack(includes the base game on Steam plus all the DLC except for 1 vehicle pack and 1 new unlock/cheat pack) for $13 USD via Paypal. Just for clarification, I can trade or gift you the game within Steam, it's not a serial key. This is less than the Steam sale on the base game from this weekend.

I've had decent success shipping from Canada to Europe. I had one item take over a month to get to France though. My favourite so far is UK, things get there nice, fast and safe.

I think the 3DS I sold to some dude in Brazil on eBay may be lost, I hope it is not the case. :/ If it's lost forever I'm never selling outside of Can, US and UK ever again.
