I could totally see that being in the show too.

Nickelodeon is stupid, oh how I wish I could buy the Avatar: TLA OST and blu-ray episodes. Let's hope they use their brains this time, though I'm guessing it's unlikely that this series gets released on blu-ray?

Well, if this series is doing as good as it's doing and it keeps on doing well, then I could see Nick putting out the original series as well (in Blu-Ray form).

Right now, I just hope for more and more seasons of anything Avatar related. It's so good.

I kinda wish it was. =P

It's already 1080p on iTunes

There is a hires TLA, but Maybe they are waiting to release that

Considering LOK is actually in HD, bluray makes a lot of sense. Isn't much to be gained from rereleasing TLA on bluray though other than maybe less disks and maybe being progressive as opposed to interlaced.

Is there? I was under the impression that TLA was done at standard def, not downscaled.
Or do you mean the animation cels or whatever could be recaptured in HD?

Note: I have no idea how modern animation works.

I thought TLA was done in 480i in 4:3. So not impossible to bring to HD (you can remaster it), but not sure if it's worth doing from Nickelodeon's perspective.

Korra will be released on Blu-ray though, and it'll look great.

And I'll buy the fuck out of it. But they NEEED to release an OST for both series so bad.

Was reading that some people thing Aang is Amon..Doesn't the fact that there is a new avatar mean that Aang has passed on? don't be big silly's

I think they're arguing that Aang dying at the end of season 2 and Katara bringing him back somehow split the Avatar into two parts and whatnot. It won't happen anyway.

But that makes it complicated and the best kind of reveal!
I like the split lines idea, anyway. It would probably be the only one that makes sense given that Amon somehow needed to learn anti-bending skills and has the spirituality to do so. I am unconvinced that Aang would teach anyone else this skill, and I won't accept that he just came to it on his own. The only way is to be the Avatar and learn it through communication with the spirit world, I say!

I also wanna know if Azula had kids and she indoctrinated them to be nuts like her. Maybe her kid is the fire bender running around killing people's parents. xD

1) You don't need to be the Avatar to energybend. There's absolutely nothing to support this notion. why do people STILL stick to it?

2) Azula didn't have kids. She's completely nuts.

Rewatch episode 3. If he is lying in his whole intro speech that's a shame

Cray people have babies all the time.

Blood bending was only possible during a full moon, lightning was a rare feat, etc. The Avatar succession stipulation is a bit firmer than those old mythology truths, but it can be overridden if the explanation is creative enough.

Aang being Amon is so stupid I can't believe it's being even discussed. I bet Amon can energy-bend for sure (although I think
that kind of reveal (Ooooh, XXXX is a XXXbender!) is already pretty cliche'd after Tarrlok was revealed to be a blood bender
), but him being Aang makes absolutely no sense. Katara had to be sure he's gone for good, and it'd be silly if Korra's visions didn't came from spirit Aang in the first place (or what, Aangmon is projecting them towards her?).

Anyway, pretty tame preview this time around, can't wait to see
Tenzin's kids defending Air temple island
. And here's hoping we get to Korra airbending training soon, maybe her visions will have helped her, or she'll get some additional ones that will (anyone else kinda hoping to see Aang appear before her in his 11-year old appearance?).

No one posted Bryan's finished season finale press art?

Here is the final press art I did for the upcoming 1-hour finale of The Legend of Korra, which airs on Saturday, June 23. Thanks for all of the kind words and support as I posted some of the in-progress elements along the way. I was sick and exhausted through most of the process, so the positive vibes were more than welcome. Amon’s mask received a minor nose job since I posted that layer last week: he has less of the signature Konietzko schnoz now.

The problem as has been mentioned before is this would be exactly the same as a major storyline in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In the season one finale,
Buffy dies briefly
which triggers
another women getting slayer powers (Kendra). Kendra is eventually killed, and the next slayer to be called becomes one of the season 3 antagonists. I think it would be too similar - Buffy's already covered the temporary death causing a split bloodline resulting in multiple avatars existing at once (and the other avatar is the bad guy).

Similarly, it's unlikely that Amon is stealing bending powers from people because that would have been lifted from Heroes.

That would mean the line split when Aang was 12. Why was no second Avatar ever discovered then? It isn't like it is hard to notice.

Also do people like you just ignore the lore surrounding energybending, or do you really not get it? You don't need to be an Avatar to energybend.

You also don't need to be an Avatar to enter the spirit world, considering Koh was able to lure a regular human into the spirit world once before and steal her face off.

to add to that, i'm pretty sure Aang was "killed" in the Avatar State, and if the Avatar dies in the Avatar State, the cycle ends

so there wouldnt have been an Avatar after him anyway

Exactly. If he stayed dead then there wouldn't have been an avatar. They used the super special chekovs gun spirit water and it revived Aang and the avatar spirit. It's only one thing, it can't be split up.
The only way is to be the Avatar and learn it through communication with the spirit world, I say!

It's also pretty explicitly explained that before people bent elements, they bent energy. Meaning it wasn't just the avatar.

That stupid turtle thing wasn't a spirit either, he was just super old.

Do you even watch the show? Everything you think is wrong.

Yeah we've had a few creatures from the spirit world cross over into the human world. I'm curious if they will explore that more next season since I really enjoyed that aspect.

Its also implied Iroh was there/knew about it (iirc it was Zhao who said it) so its really not just the Avatar.

As I continue watching this series Amon is quickly becoming my favorite character. Very intriguing and seems to have motives that far surpass the minds of any other character on the show.

What about the bit where Katara brought him back? Is it not possible that the avatar spirit came back first by a second or two and immediately began the search for a successor?

The existence of two Avatars makes even less sense if you consider that flashgame which took part between book 2 and 3 which is considered canon where Aang had to restore the Avatar cycle step by step. I refuse to believe that they would just change that now.
