Legend of Korra |OT| - Saturday Mornings Just Got Better

Its odd that the book is named 'Air' when we have seen Korra practicing airbending like, twice.

The fact that you forget the awesomeness that is Bolin disgusts me.

Not that odd, the first season of The Last Airbender has this issue dealing with the Waterbending training.

Has the moonlight thing been discussed here?

Amon only effected by the bloodbending when he walked into the moonlight? Meaning he is fully immune.
He's still lit when he gets to tarrlok

3. The original Avatar from eons ago is essentially like Amon. he was a powerful spirit bender who bent her spirit into future generations, somewhat akin to blood bending. The original Avatar also stole other bender's abilities, to gain all four elements. It's only after generations that the original (horrific) tale of the Avatar is replaced with a more "balance" friendly version.

this would be pretty great if true, and tie in well with the yakone/tarrlok stuff.

I kinda like the theory she gets energy bent and just goes on wiith her life.
I think it's likely that she'll lose her bending, get some bonding time with Asami, and spend a lot more time in Spirit World finding out more about where bending comes from in the first place.

If being the Avatar is about providing balance, and one part of that balance is taking away bending, then it stands to reason that another part of providing balance will be to grant/restore bending ability.

How is that a spoiler? They stated quite clearly that
Zuko is alive
in the first episode.

I just rewatched the first episode, and they didn't. They didn't explicitly state whether
he was alive or dead
. The only reason we know one way or another is through the website which:

1) Not everyone has access to (it's region locked).
2) Not everyone who has access to has read.
3) Not everyone who has access to wants to read.
4) Contains information that hasn't been broadcast as part of an episode.

So technically it's a spoiler. Tag it up, please, as the OP has a clear definition on what is and isn't a spoiler, and it's common courtesy to discuss anything that hasn't aired on TV with tags.

So excited for the final 3 episodes.

A couple of things I will predict, in order to quote myself later:

1. Aang's vision with re: Yakone was more than simply about Tarlock. It will tie into Amon and how he came to be.

2. I agree with those who are saying that Amon is stealing others' bending powers.

3. Korra will definitely go into the Avatar state when Amon tries to steal her bending.

4. Season 1 will end with Amon fleeing, but not defeated.

5. Zuko will be the one who leads the Fire Nation fleet into Republic City.

6. Mako will end up with Asami, and Korra with Bolin. :)

It doesn't make sense, as I NEVER browsed their website and I knew it.

I can't remember exactly where and when, but at some point they say
he's travelling as ambassador in some other country
.

I can also confirm it was only on the nick.com website, with that exact information.

Edit: To clarify - it was never stated in the show itself.

I really like this idea. After bending coming so natural for her, she'll have to relearn the elements spiritually this time.

Is it not possible that you went into a site once for a couple of seconds and don't remember?
No, I never bothered with it. But at this point, if you guys are so sure they never said it during the show, I must have heard about it by someone else.

And don't forget how scared she was when first attacked by the chi blockers, or the nightmare about Amon.

We know the show's getting at least two seasons. What better way to end the first than to finally see her master air bending and then taking it all away as a major cliffhanger? It'll put her in a dark, scary place for maximum drama.

I actually thought all the adult voices were really good, even Aang's. But Sokka's was definitely the best one of the three we heard.

I figure if we ever see adult Katara or Zuko in a flashback, they'd keep their original VOs (yes, I know Grangran Katara has a different VO, but that's a special case). Katara's voice sounded quite mature anyway, so I don't see a need to change it for someone between up to about 45-50 years old. And Dante Basco voicing Zuko would be really hard for another actor to replace, in my view. It was a pretty unique voice if you ask me.

Hey guys, the latest episode is up on Nick.com now, just haven't linked to it on the video page.

Thats good since Wiseblade can now update the OP.

It was never explicitly said on the show and the closest info we got could be interpreted as the opposite (Katara saying that all of her friends are "gone").

You either saw it in the thread since it was out in the open at times until we started to clamp down on spoilers due to complaints or someone else told you.

Those that mentioned that Amon is trying to become something like the Avatar might be right.

Woah. I went through the last few pages and it seems like people are independently arriving at this conclusion. Prior to my predictions, both Kyou and Ferreria mention the possibility of Amon absorbing, rather than sealing, powers. To commemorate, I created the following:
