They invited people to dress as any PlayStation character and the best ones would get into E3. Doesn't mean anything about the game though.

Ninja Raiden needs to get his due. Ive always liked him even back in MGS2. I would rather Superbot use Raiden than Snake. Leave Old Man Snake in his resting home.
Raiden's play style would be unique, I get the feeling Snake would be too similar to Radec and Nate and we have enough long range shooter characters.

Snake can be DLC or something. Like he said, Raiden needs his time and he's a much better fighter than Snake, especially with his weird ass moves.

raiden doesn't seem iconic enough. snake really resonates with the PS brand.
Still can't decide which snake would be better. Im leaning towards Old Snake, since he's got the most unique assortment of tools compared to his other incarnations.
octocamo, rail gun, metal gear mk2, stun knife and classic stuff like cardboard box and cqc.
lv1 super: gekko stomp
lv2 super: raiden assist
lv3 super: hoping into MG REX
would also draw less comparisions to smash bros snake.

Ok ok, so I'll stop whining about Drake's playstyle and wait to try him out (along with the other characters too..) at the PS tour but one thing I won't get over - Drake looks bland.
I understand there's not much to his design, he's supposed to be an "everyman" or whatever, but I just feel like his hair and face look really bland. This is coming from a huge Uncharted fan btw. I just want them to give more detail to him? I know, I know it's negligible in gameplay but I can see it and it becomes really obvious at the score screen when he makes that weird ass face.
I know I haven't seen it with my own eyes and everything will be polished up more (presumably) before launch, another major gripe I had was some of the icons as you're playing look weird, like Kratos' head/face.
Final edit: I just feel like Drake's face is off. I can't explain why, it just doesn't look right. Am I crazy?
According to IMdb, it is. But, according to IMdb, Reggie Fils-Aime, Bobby Kotick, and Paula Abdul are in the game, so I don't know what to believe.

That's irrelevant. Game isn't a popularity contest and even if it was Raiden appeared in MGS2 which is the biggest selling in the franchise. Sure Snake would have some unique attacks but someone like Raiden really stands out with his sword based attacks and lightening, a type of character Sony doesn't have.
I do see Snake winning out though but if Raiden can't make it in I really hope Ryu Hayabusa does even though his mostly associated with Xbox.

This is what I'm very, very curious about. Some characters seem very well thought out while others seem like they need some fine tuning. The same goes for their overall design, some look awesome while others look like they need to be more iconic, that they need to pop more.
I imagine certain specifics of certain moves might change for balance reasons, but the actual moves themselves are probably pretty final.
When I think PlayStation 1 I think FF7, Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid, Crash Bandicoot.
When I think PlayStation 2 I think God of War, Jak & Daxter, Ico/Sotc, Silent Hill 2, Devil May Cry, Ratchet & Clank.
When I think PlayStation 3 I think Killzone 2, Uncharted, MGS4, Assassins Creed, Demon's Souls, LittleBigPlanet.
When I think PlayStation 2 I think God of War, Jak & Daxter, Ico/Sotc, Silent Hill 2, Devil May Cry, Ratchet & Clank.
When I think PlayStation 3 I think Killzone 2, Uncharted, MGS4, Assassins Creed, Demon's Souls, LittleBigPlanet.
Ive been asking for Parappa digital release for 3 years, I don't think it's gonna happen due to music licences.
I would buy 3 copies for Jennifer Tate and Spike/Spector
Sony owns all the music in that game, and the PSP version is on PSN...

That's another one of those European PSN releases I'd kill for in the states. Someday.
Parappa the Rapper for PSP is on the Vita store... too bad it's $22.99.
Exactly, that's why I found a copy of Parappa on eBay. Thank goodness PS3's can play PS1 games.

Putting a Monster Hunter reference in this game would be almost as bad as including Volnutt.
Both Snake and Raiden should be in from Konami as MGS screams Playstation imo and Konami showed great loyality with MGS4 and it will be very disappointing not to have MGS representation in this game.
Capcom please be Dante.
Square will be Cloud for sure but I would prefer Sephiroth.

They could do the same thing with Megaman and his buster. Megaman is more recognizable than Monster hunter.
And I forgot Sega. Kazuma Kiryu must be in this game for Japan advertising atleast

I feel like with Ubisoft, it's not a matter of if an Assassin's Creed character will get in, but which assassin will be chosen. Between Ubisoft's openness for putting their characters, especially assassins, in other things - see FFXIII-2, TF2, MGS4, and SCV - and the way the AC series is often given a stronger push on the PS3, I'd honestly be a little surprised if an assassin doesn't get in.
Which one, though?

+ The most popular, since he's been in the most games and the best games thus far.
+ Has had three games to build up a potential move list.

I say if they include a Monster Hunter character it should be a Felyne comrade. Special moves could use bonepicks, catpaw hammers, and lots and lots of bombs.

This is by far my favorite vid showcasing this game. Those guys seemed to have a lot of fun with it and I finally truly understand the mechanics behind the game.
