If there's no one behind your receiver, there's nothing to worry about when airing it out ... assuming you actually throw it far enough. The throw was literally like a few feet to short which led to the defender being able to get a finger on it with an epic leap ... and luckily deflecting it such that a teammate had a shot of grabbing it by doing his own epic move.
It was really an amazing defensive play as opposed to a bad offensive play. That said, if he had put it a few feet further ... there wouldn't have been a tip.
