Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC
Doubleheader for Pierre Gauthier today, too. Was at OTT/ANA this afternoon, COL/LA tonight.

so many bad trade possibilities! :O

It would be nice to see the trade to get him finally pay off. It always sucks when potential is wasted by chronic injuries.

Pretty much. I've always liked him and I think he can succeed when he's give a chance but the injuries he's had the past 2 years have been ridiculous. I'm excited to see him play so strong last couple of games after coming back so recently.

After that first goal by LA I was expecting another offensively anemic night by the Avs. Just hope they show up in the 3rd. Mueller is playing well and that's great, if he can avoid injuries I think it's going to really spark our forwards once he and Duchene are back together.

Wish I had that time. "So, I'm off to LA to watch the Ducks game. No biggie."

I think they showed Steve Yzerman at the ACC tonight. Could be wrong.

STAMKOS FOR MACARTHUR, BOOK IT.

Toronto could use a French-English liason.

Not really.

Yzerman, McPhee and Burke were all watching a game in Ohio (minor league) yesterday

And... Colisee is going to be renovated in may... With a new arena coming this screams NHL is coming back (just like the renos at MTS)

Ah, I see.

What's the deal with that new arena? Checked Wiki, and they say it's in the planning stages. Doesn't seem concrete (ha!) to me.

Pens and Caps, bring it on. Gonna miss the game, but will be score watching on my phone. Hoping Malkin continues his dominating play.

Got hurt in last night's game. Must have done something to that injury tonight.

Hmm, odd. I really didn't notice him or Kane for the entire game. Makes sense now.

Also, I was scared every time Hossa was on the ice. Guy just seems to tear into us every time we play.

4 of the top 5 teams in the West are from the Central division (ignoring GP). When's the last time that happened? Wouldn't be too surprised if it's never happened before.

Ference has a phone hearing tomorrow with Shanaban. I wonder if they will announce the result before the Bruins game or after? I remember Marchand having an early meeting but the result wasn't released until later that evening.

Toews left early in the 2nd. Kane has been pretty invisible lately so its no surprise that you didn't notice him.

Subban fined $2500 for his "dangerous trip" on Kunitz.

And here's another one on James Neal, in which Neal got a fine for the high stick. LOL.

In other Habs-related news, Montreal fans are planning a 1 year anniversary party to celebrate Scott Gomez's last goal in the NHL.

:D

Still looks like an obvious dive by Neal, plus he deliberately swung his stick at PK.

Not excusing PK... just bringing balance

Yeah, Neal was fined for the high stick, and deserved it. The swing looks far too convenient for it not to be a little deliberate. Still, Subban did take Neal's skates out from under him.

I'm just trying to build the case for P.K. Subban being a dirt bag.

All of the teams in the Southeast Division now have a negative goal differential. Brutal. Florida is at -13 and still leads the division. Pathetic times, man.

Also, it's sad times in Caps land. There's a "trade Ovi" thread on their team message board.

Briere is the latest Flyer to be out with a concussion.

http://www.csnphilly.com/blog/flyer...iere-out-indefinite?blockID=635614&feedID=695

The Devils abused him yesterday and got away with it because the Flyers are soft as shit. I just love having a $1 million "heavyweight" like Shelley on our team who doesn't protect our skill players, hardly ever fights, and loses badly when he does fight. Boston must be quaking with fear at the prospect of playing Philly today.

Which member of "Russian Roulette" will the Bruins see today? Bryz or Bob?

Thomas is between the pipes for Boston.

edit: Ference hearing @ 10am.

youre gonna feel the wrath of bryzgalov today homie. he aint gonna be giving up no 5 goals this time.

predicted stats:
bryzgalov - 32 save shutout
giroux - hat trick
sestito - 2 fights, a questionable hit and game misconduct

edit: Which Florida player did Winnipeg boo tonight?

Kris Versteeg. With good reason, as he had a hat trick against us last game we played and had 2 goals and an assist last night, if I recall.

What do Jets fans think of Wellwood these days? Looks like he's slowed down since October. More like classic Wellfed.

He has gotten a nice batch of points recently, but yes, has slowed down from earlier in the year. He still prefers to pass rather than shoot and it drives me nuts sometimes. Still like him though given what I have seen of him this year. He is important on any line he is on. Plays smart and takes very few penalties. Has the ability to create some beautiful plays and a good face-off man. He's made some BAD passes and giveaways in some games where he has been demoted to the 4th line for a few games though. Mostly plays on the 2nd line with Ladd and Antropov.

Maybe Calder and Fallout agree with me about him?

On that note, I hope Alexander Burmistrov is given more ice time from now on. He will be such a good player as he matures. He's just 20 years old and has some of the greatest hands on our team. He just needs more confidence and experience. He was given more ice time last night and it paid off.

I'm not happy with the shootout loss against Florida, as to me it was a must win game, but the Jets are lucky they even got a point from that. Such sloppy play in our own zone. Our defence play with the puck too much in our own end, and the giveaways pile up. Never a good thing.
