Looks fucking awesome. What a poster 🔥

Looks awesome.

Werwulf and Hope, my two most anticipated movies in a long while.

I was looking forward to Nosferatu aswell, but I felt it was just solid/good, not great. I think The Northman is his best work yet, fantastic movie.

Anyways, I hope Werwulf will be good.

Love Eggers. Only thing nagging my brain is that this project is too similar in tone to Nosferatu. While I would love him to make horror period pieces forever I am also watching his career trajectory and reception like my child, a delecate flower. All his previous works showed his technical variety.

Wwitch
Lighthouse
Northman

Nosferatu
Werewulf

Werewulf does seem to have more of a gritty look to it kind of like a halfway mix of Nosferatu and wwitch tho.

My only concern is are they going to make the werewolf look like Jack Nicholson in that 90's Wolf movie or are they going full American werewolf in London transformation?

We have had a pretty dramatic resurgence of the 'classic' movie monsters recently. Frankenstein, the Mummy, Nosferatu - and now this.

Don't forget my man, the Creature from the black lagoon. Arguably the most successful reimagining with Shape of Water.

I figure we are due for 50's era "giant versions of shit" next.

We also had The Bride - but I haven't seen that and heard it wasn't so great. Still relative to that Universal monster cinematic universe push it was probably still a step-up.

The monster romantasy chick lit lovers are gonna see this in droves. $5B box office incoming.
"Darling, darling, your misfit ugly and dorky brother is screaming in pain. Is he still hurt after getting bit by that dog last month?"

"I'm not sure, sweetie. Brother, why are getting hairy, twisting on the ground, your clothes being torn?"

"Arrrrrooooo!"

"Darling, he's turning into a beast, so savage!"

"Brother, you are some sort of wolf-man! Deformed though, is that a third leg? Why is it bright red?"

"Ohhhhhhhhh my. Darling, um, why don't you run to the store while I take care of your poor brother? Take your time, maybe make a weekend of it?"

"Are you sure, sweetie? You will be ok here in the remote cabin all weekend with my now hairy and deformed brother?"

"OH yes. Run along now."

"Arroooo? Arroooooooooooo!!!!!"

I hope Guillermo del Toro gets to make At the Mountain of Madness. I'd love me some cosmic horror monsters.
