Publisher 505 Games and developer Indolphinity, a Chinese game development studio founded by WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers creator Xia Siyuan, have entered into a development and publishing agreement on a new title in the WUCHANG series.

Not bad, but definitely just a run of the mill Soulslike.
Also UE5 so it looks like shit on consoles and lower end PC hardware.
That's exactly what it is. Okay game, forgettable and nothing to stand out because the Chinese setting was done by Wukong before.

Ok as I thought then.

One thing pretty much every Soulslike fails to do, is to have great level design and exploration. Thats a huge part of why FromSoftware games are a huge cut above the rest, and nobody else seems to either understand that or attempt to emulate it.

How was the game btw? I never got around to playing it because it looked like another run of the mill Soulslike.
Thought it was better than wukong. More combat variety and actual soulslike levels. Wukong looks more visually striking though, but so many invisible barriers make every zone feel like a hallway except the snow zone.

Fantastic news!

Loved the first game. Excellent gameplay and level design, beautiful graphics and artstyle and solid framerate while playing on a base PS5.

One of the best games I've played this year.

Cant really remember....but some of these bosses in the game are actually chinese gods and CCP didnt seem to like that they can die in the game. Thats what the eastern committee is caring about! 🤷‍♂️
Oh, yeah, I remember that one.

Cool, I'll check it out when it comes out!

Wuchang was no masterpiece, but a really solid Soulslike, better than Lords of the Fallen, but a long way from Lies of Ps greatness(which is the best non-From Souls thus far).

Hopefully the sequel joins Game Pass like the first one. =)

Great news. Finished the first game a couple of weeks ago on PC and loved it, one of the best Soulslikes out there. Some really good boss fights, good combat system, nice art direction, and good level design especially after the second boss. I think it helped that I didn't start playing it until after all the patches. I don't care about the China "controversy".

Nice.

I liked the first one a lot, I am definitely interested in a sequel.

Alongside Lies of P, it has one of the best souls like level designs outside of From Software games.

I hope they add more build variety and improve the story.

I love this kind of high and mighty posts while consuming 90% of products made in China.
Give me that China "trash". I'm no american and appreciate the amount of stuff they produce. The stereotypical "made in China" subpar product quality doesn't stand any longer for a bunch of stuff. They do steal and reverse engineer tech like nobody's business to produce inferior and cheaper stuff but, at the same time, they keep it on improving and aim to take that slice of the market.

Just look at current built EV Cars from China. They can explode from time to time, but the build quality and level of features you get for the same price or cheaper than an US/Europe made EV is out of this world. No wonder brands like GWM and BYD are biting large sizes of the international market.

Isn't this the game that they patched so certain bosses and nps couldn't die because of backlash from China? I actually forgot about it, but I remember it having performance / graphical issues on PC. Think I played like 2 hours and moved on, mainly out of being burnt out of that genre.

I Game Pass'd it but bounced off because I'm kind of burnt out in general on grimdark games. Give me some color and whimsy damn it.

I wouldn't mind it at all, tbh. The first one was a pretty good souls like.
Better than Lies of P(iss), that's for sure.
