You dont need to play that obscure JRPG

I consider Ocarina of Time to be the best JRPG of the 90s

Bro I literally played this game earlier this year and loved it

It's about as obscure as it gets. I didn't play it so I could get clout or anything.
Wow I had this back on the Sega CD. It was hard as fuck because Victor Ireland cranked up the difficulty for the US version. I had to grind for hours to get past that stupid tornado boss. I rage quit during the final dungeon where you're fighting boss-tier battles like every 4 steps (with long load times). The exact part was some large area that had a bunch of smaller rooms that were all empty except 1 and you had to find it by trial and error.

I probably would've enjoyed it way more with no loading, faster battles, and sane difficulty level.

I can't wait to boot up an obscure JRPG tonight and keep mumbling "you can't tell me what to do. go read a book he says. like you need the prestige. ha, right. play something better he says. I'm going to grind for XP against these sexy demon cats for the next 4 hours. that'll show him." over and over to myself.

My wife is going to end up leaving me.

3 guys on the internet are going to respect you for it. You'll get a couple of conversations out of it. But the story isn't actually good and the grindy gameplay isn't actually fun and the atmosphere and charm won't hit like the JRPGs you played as a child. Spend your time reading a book instead or playing a game you'll actually enjoy. The prestige around JRPGs is mostly nonsense.
which game are you talking about though? :P

I play obscure rpg's (mostly translated from languages I don't understand) as well as expensive rpgs (like Panzer Dragoon Saga) so I can be cooler than my friends. The problem is I have no friends so I have nothing to brag about. But when I do get friends, I will be so far ahead of them in my obscure, exotic and expensive rpgness.

It's good to be the King. (Of nothing)

You should definitely pick up the Steam release then. Not only is the difficulty sane, but there's a high speed option and settings for like 2x and 3x EXP gain. Steam says I finished this with 100% of the achievements in just under 9 hours.

It's okay to just admit that western RPGs suck homie

Most JRPGs are generally mediocre... the problem is the really good one are so so so good that it raises the bar for the rest...

That whole rising tide lifts all boats thing.

There are very games as good as chronotrigger, but because its such a masterpiece it shows the potential of a great jrpg.
