FIFA World Cup 2026 - It's Called Football, Not Soccer!

The 2-2 goal in Argentina-Cabo Verde. The most beautiful strike of the World Cup so far IMO.

Haiti's goal against Morocco was also very beautiful.

In European leagues, red cards are always overturned when refereeing errors are observed. UEFA is simply being political.
In fact, this whole mess only happened because Trump publicized the case.

Cool guy

Article:
Haaland bought a rare manuscript that tells the story of Norway and their eventual conversion to Catholicism.

He bought the Heimskringla saga for 1.3 million Norwegian kroner (around £100,000 / $134,000) and donated it to his hometown library.

Written by the medieval Icelandic scholar Snorri Sturluson, the manuscript is a foundational text detailing the history and legends of Norway's early Norse kings.

The funny thing is for all these accusations of "cheating"(no proof Trump directly impacted the decision anyway) the only outcome of this is USA having their normal team. It's not like they were just gifted a free goal or something.

Other teams are just afraid of team USA. Never thought I'd see the day that a sport we typically suck at compared to other countries now has other fans crying "cheating!" in complete and utter fear of us. We truly have arrived on the world stage.

The amount of L takes from US folks is something to behold. :messenger_tears_of_joy:
Can't wait for this WC to be over , stick to your baseballs and Super bowls.
It's like seeing your mate who watched one Netflix documentary suddenly think they're an expert.
As an American, I concur. I've been watching the game before I was cognisant and these casuals need to shut the fuck up.

Absurd?

The President of the USA, the hosting country of the World Cup, contacted the FIFA President and then VOILA, the red card was suspended.

If Balogun has any respect for the game, he would refuse to play. It's very obvious that it wasn't Baloguns decision to review the red card, hell even the USMNT never appealed the red card. It was the President of the USA that wanted it investigated and then it magically got suspended.
The red card never should have happened in the first place if they followed their own rules. They corrected a mistake.

I've said it before but I find it funny that people are worried about protecting the integrity of a sport where this happens every few minutes:

Nobody is going to "refuse to play" in a WC knockout match. Everyone is doing whatever they can to win. So yes, absurd.

Oddly satisfying:

It's funny seeing players like this who seem to be just sauntering on the field until they suddenly strike with full force.

If I had to field an 11 of the same player Haaland would be way, way down my list. If I had to insert 1 striker into a pre-made eleven Haaland would be at the very top and it's not even close.

He does his role and really only his role, but he absolutely perfected it.

Thank Rivaldo and his "favela flop."

What a load of crap :messenger_grinning_sweat:

What Americans fail to understand is that soccer is the sport most widely played by children around the world. Most soccer matches played across the globe take place without video assistance.

It is already difficult enough for coaches to get children to learn and apply the rules; it becomes impossible when adults do not respect them. A red card is a red card: you do not dispute the referee's decision.

Make a better version for adults then
