FIFA World Cup 2026 - It's Called Football, Not Soccer!

The NCAA to FIFA after losing control of the World Cup:

The amount of L takes from US folks is something to behold. :messenger_tears_of_joy:
Can't wait for this WC to be over , stick to your baseballs and Super bowls.
It's like seeing your mate who watched one Netflix documentary suddenly think they're an expert.

That's unfair. Some of us watched two Netflix documentaries.

LOL When Blatter is calling out the corruption you know things are fucked.

FIFA were corrupt before this incident and will always be corrupt, but Balogun's red card suspension actioned through publicly acknowledged political intervention sets a horrible precedent for our beautiful game. At this point, we might as well call it soccer worldwide.

Translation:

It doesn't hurt one bit. Neymar was born with the kind of talent that one in a billion has, and he chose to squander it on whisky, poker, and women. He never committed to anything, never took responsibility for anything. He spent half his career injured because he has the physical conditioning and stamina of a drunkard, he insisted on selling his image more through off-field controversies than through effort on the field and, when he realized he couldn't achieve anything with that, he rigged Santos and the CBF.On top of everything, he's spoiled, disrespectful, and has zero fair play. A delinquent who hijacked our jersey for over a decade and fed a terrible culture into our football. It's finally over.

I've never read so much shit like this.

Hey other countries might tolerate bullshit lying down but we don't do that here in America. When we are getting fucked, we take matters into our own hands. Go ask the British about that.

Soccer fans are so passionate I'm going to need crazy restraint to not troll them on social media for the rest of the world cup over this story.

This whole situation with Trump and Infantino is ridiculous.

The precedent that this opens is that every single team is now going to contest a red card situation and they are absolutely in their right.

Whoever says that Balogun's foul isn't a red card must be retarded.

The USA team didn't need this shit whatsoever, they were actually playing nice.

But now...I just hope Belgium sacks USA out of the world cup. Because of Trump.

Honestly, the only thing that would save the USA teams face would be if Balogun refused to play.
Save what face?

Are you saying that a team should not be at full strength, and the team whining about having to play a full strength team isn't losing face?

No wonder Europe is being conquered again by the nuOttomans with no pushback.

Seeing a huge cultural difference this morning between the USA and EU sporting philosophies. In the US, we honestly want your best. No fan would speak out over a shortened suspension in the vast majority of cases unless it was for some serious, off-the-field evil.

Doesn't Belgium care to see if they're better than us at Soccer without resorting to alerting the hall monitors? What's even the point? Is this sport or a bureaucracy contest?

It sounds like Belgium will now take it to CAS who said they were prepared for a quick decision earlier?

"To date, the RBFA has still not received any grounds for this decision, nor has it received the information it has been requesting since the start of this procedure for a copy of the decision and the motivation declaring the player eligible as well as the referee's report. Which is a breach of FIFA regulations.

"The RBFA has informed the United States Soccer Federation that it contests the eligibility of the player, should the player be listed on the referee's team sheet. This leaves all further actions open."

Belgium's appeal officially rejected by FIFA

Belgium never appealed. FIFA done the appeal on their behalf and then denied it immediately. Which prevented RBFA from actually starting an official appeal.

"For an appeal to be admissible, FIFA's own regulations state that the reasoned decision must first have been communicated to the appellant. While the RBFA was merely seeking legitimate explanations, FIFA itself created an appeal and immediately ensured that it would be declared inadmissible."

FIFA never sent RBFA a copy of the decision or the application it followed to get to that decision, which meant RBFA could never even officially start an appeal. Then FIFA went ahead and created an appeal on their behalf which meant that RBFA could not even start one. Literally scammed.

It's funny how that moron Trump has to take credit for it by boasting he intervened. His ego can't help it. We're not all playing by the same rules what a disgrace.

Some of you are absurd lol.

Absurd?

The President of the USA, the hosting country of the World Cup, contacted the FIFA President and then VOILA, the red card was suspended.

If Balogun has any respect for the game, he would refuse to play. It's very obvious that it wasn't Baloguns decision to review the red card, hell even the USMNT never appealed the red card. It was the President of the USA that wanted it investigated and then it magically got suspended.

He knows it sets people off. The morons are those whom take the bait and lose their shit over it.

It was moronic to straight up admit to it. Should've kept his mouth shut and took the win but his ego can't help it. It's not as if Infantino was going to admit to what was going on.

I would watch a movie based entirely on this character.

Europe and bureaucracy. How unheard of.
