FIFA World Cup 2026 - It's Called Football, Not Soccer!

The absolute swagger of Haaland after putting in the second goal was brutal. It was like watching the enemies in Dark Souls walk away after hacking you to pieces.
Too accurate.

Yep, it was a bad and/or illegal red card. The call should've been fixed without Trump having to intervene.
I also seriously thing that this was already being investigated given some past precedents. People jump on the orange man quite easily but I think it's a good decision. If Messi passes with no infraction the this, to me, makes it just. It's not some USA thing even though I like the underdog status and hope they reach at least the quarters.

I'm brazilian, so I'm obviously not happy. But I'm ok with losing to Norway. Very capable, honorable team. I'l be rooting for them to take the cup (and Portugal, since I also have a portuguese passport)

And Haaland is awesome. Dude had 3 chances, scored 2. If only Brazil had such efficient players. Not to mention that he is humble, and he was very respectful before the game etc.

I'm sad but unfortunately not surprised. I swear that a national team formed by the best players playing in Brazil today would be better than this national team picked from guys playing in Europe.

Don't want to sound like I have a tinfoil hat on, but I feel like there's a lot of corruption destroying Brazil's football for a looong time, just like in every aspect of brazilian society. Some of these players dont make any sense playing in a national team.

And Ancelotti fucked up badly with substitutions.

Someone needs to investigate what the hell has happened to Brazil.

People used to fear playing them.
Nothings happened to them, it's just that the teams that are playing against them aren't glazing them like the rest of the football media seems to. They ain't been "that" Brazil for years now.

Bloody fantastic to see a Scandi team go further. Nice change from all the S.Americsn and mainland Europe lot.

Oh no bro they rigged the game by letting a guy on the team play in the game after getting tossed out of the previous game for no reason bro it's so rigged bro really bro
Who happens to be their best player, with the most goals, while the World Cup is being played in the USA, after the fucking President pleaded for it to be reversed. LOL.

if you think that ain't fishy I don't know what the hell to tell you.

Thunderstorm protocol apparently activated a bit ago yet they didn't want to bring the game up which is something I know England was happy about but if you delay the game, I guess that mean the game may be cooler?

Sports is pretty crazy. Brazil has a population of around 200 million. Norway of around 5 million. Football is the most popular sport in Brazil, while cross-country skiing is what's the shit in Norway. And yet they scrambled together a team that won.

Man I love football!

Nah, man. Something is definitely going on behind the scenes.

CBF (Brazil's national soccer entity) is definitely verry corrupt. Some of those players called up for the national team doesnt make any sense. Seems like Ancelotti (and any other brazilian trainer, really) is forced to call players who are sponsored by Nike or whatever. Neymar being called for the world cup at his condition is really absurd, for example.

Dude should have been retired already. He isn't playing well in Santos, a brazilian team that isn't competitive in national league. He isn't playing in Europe cause no other team want him.

Brazil has an insane pool of talent, the cultivation and management of them is lacking. You guys should always have the coolest and most fun teams, like you had in the 90s.

You should have scored in the first, you didn't push when Norway slowed the game down. The gameplan of Norway was to lean back and smash the ball up to Haaland when Brazil was too aggressive, but Brazil countered that by keeping the backline on Haaland. It created a passive tone in the match that favored Norway.

Haaland's an imposing presence in the box, surprising that there aren't more big guys like that who can get clear of defenders with height and physicality.

In FOOTball it's very difficult to have those physical attributes alongside technical skill, pace and coordination. Guys like Haaland or Kane are oddities. Normally, tall strikers are very clumsy one-touch finishers.

Haaland is a freak of nature, like Lebron.

Norway deserved to go through. Brazil has been just a name for what? 14-16 years? Men made a name for Brazil and now we have donkeys shaming it. Anyways, hopefully England doesn't get fucked by Azteca altitude.

Yep exactly. Kinda got overhyped because they had decent goal scoring matches. But nothing fancy about them, same as some of the other teams with some good talents relying on big moments of those players. Either it comes or not.
Then again good for Norway, they looked more solid than expected. They might row themselves onto even more surprises.

I don't agree with the reversal but he shouldn't have got the card in the first place. At least USA won't have any excuses when they get dumped out.
Yea, I agree he shouldn't have gotten it.

But he's not the first player to get a card he didn't deserve. They never get reversed.

The fact that his card was reversed... When he's scored the most goals for USA....When USA is hosting... After the President asked them to rethink their decision.... come on.

... its FIFA

Hmmm let's see

France will beat Paraguay (boring)

Canada will beat Morocco

Portugal will beat Spain (Very close match, so it'll probably in penalties)

US will beat Belgium

Brazil will beat Norway (another boring)

England will beat Mexico (We gotta have at least one unexpected win, despite rumors that the Cartel has been rigging the matches)

Argentina will beat Egypt (another boring)

AND Colombia will beat Switzerland (bias aside, it'll probably be a close match)
Fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice, double shame on me.

If I get a third prediction wrong, I am so fucked

Yeah, I swear to God that we have better players on national league than in Europe. Rayan, for example, played WAY better than Rafinha. At the same time, we have some players like Danilo that sits on the bench of a local team and he is called up? What?

Yup, your match analysis is perfect. Also, I believe that Ancelotti really fucked up. Neymar and Endrick fucked up Brasil's pace. There was no need for substitutions at that time. Brasil was making some chances, then it got way worse after substitutions.

EDIT: Bruno Guimarães had only shot 3 penalties on his ENTIRE CAREER. Fuck my life.

Where the fuck have you been the past 3 years? Or are you one of those "I only 'watch' soccer once every 4 years" type?
It was a question not meant to be actually answered.

But, to be honest, this 2026 World Cup is really the first time I became aware of him.

It's possible I've seen his name before, but I never registered it.

EDIT: Btw, yeah, I am that type.

The ones that come to mind in the past would be Drogba and Ibra.
Normally, I would also say Isak in the present but his move to Liverpool cooked him.

It didn't get reversed, it got suspended. He isn't the first player in this tournament to have a ban suspended either, C. Ronaldo was the first.

Well yeah that isn't good precedent - we already know that FIFA will fall all over themselves to fellate Ronaldo.
