FIFA World Cup 2026 - It's Called Football, Not Soccer!

So, both Paraguay and Uruguay portray absolute garbage displays of sportsmanship.

Both guays can get fucked.

Makes me wish this was Germany vs France instead.

Wait where else have I seen this before? Oh yes, early years of Simeone at Atletico in the Madrid derby. Plenty of times...
At least it's not that common luckily, but it's entirely on the ref for not giving a fuck to do his job properly.

I called it near the beginning of the group games but the directives to the referees to keep the game flowing and not calling fouls as much would have the opposite effect and cynical teams would start fouling constantly pushing what they could get away with.

Just a few examples of this awful play by the Paraguay

Kylian acting like the King he is:

Yeah btw broadcast I was watching they were talking how that kick on Mbappé is likely a yellow. Like wtf lol, clearest red for the game.
I'm not even harshly against VAR but not even a review?! Could we get some consistency at least for the basics?

Brazil vs Norway should be a great match tomorrow, but I'm even more interested in Mexico vs England. I'm rooting for Mexico, but it definitely won't be an easy game for them.

But seriously it's all on the referee, he was incompetent for this level. Earlier today in the Canada - Maroc game the referee started early the yellow cards distribution and both teams behaved after. Some were maybe unwarrented or exaggerated but better safe than sorry.

I find curious that the French league is a butcher shop, a meat grinder, game after game, then when someone plays the "libertadores way" they complaint...

French people...

The ref in the Canada game bought nearly every dive the players were selling though. It was hard to watch at times.
He booked that Canadian player for just brushing the goalkeepers leg.

Sorry to break it to yawl but England is cooked.
I'd normally bet on Mexico since they're playing on home turf but the bookies are giving the win to England.

There aren't many teams as used to being hated on as the English. They know what to expect.

Hard to see how Mexico aren't the favourites playing at home and at that altitude.
England will do well to win this game.

(I don't agree with sports betting either, but won't get into it here)

No one hates England, especially in LA (except Argentina for obvious reasons) they would do it against anyone.
Again, you guys need to follow Latin/South American football more. This is pretty standard on Libertadores

France beat Paraguay at their own game of acting + simply playing better. Shit match to watch, but at least the biggest hacks are out. Just Argentina left.
