I have been waiting since 2001 for a game featuring Sarge, Phobos, Wrack, Crash and Major as a fun co-op campaign in some sort of Halo: Reach-style situation where they all canonically die at the end in a blaze of glory, and all that's left is a hint in the ending scene that Doomguy will finish the job.

They really tried to make some Marvel ass Cinematic game experience out of modern Doom.

If they kept things minimalistic like in Doom 2016 they would have something great but after Eternal's story and now Dark Ages it's not terribly interesting.

Eternal would be fine if the DLC didn't introduce it's nonsense. Even if Eternal had a tiny amount of it. They just went full ham.

When I watched Mortismal's video and got 10 seconds in to see that BUMPER CARS was still there instead of proper glory kills I clicked off the video. Not to mention the ugly MMO color coding with the UI and enemy bullets. Gotta love Modernization.

It's what I came ITT to say: making them look nearly the same makes sense and nods back to that original canon. Whether they still acknowledge that now is another matter, but to make it makes sense for them to look roughly the same.
