If I wouldn't have made the decision to finally start my new gaming PC. I would have probably spent it all on preorders. lol I was able to purchase two items on my build. I got a good deal on a Ryzen 9 7800X CPU. No more returns for me cause this was the second time I returned my CPU for an upgrade. I bought my MSI PRO X870-P from Amazon. That'll arrive this week.

A frustrating thing about building a new gaming PC is any viable information always includes a ",but" , "a 1-1.1% performance decrease" or "experience a bottleneck" in every article you read about a certain part. Nothing is ever good or good enough. Even at the highest peak there's a fraction of something better with another product. /rant Best Buy told me they don't sell a lot of CPU's because prebuilts have gotten so popular and easier. Which I understand. I'm trying to capture that feeling of building my own.

On a side note. I went to a thrift store that specializes in computer parts. It's owned by Goodwill. Goodwill knows what they have and aren't marking prices down just because they're second hand. They'd charge you $2 for half a bottle of bubble solution. Anyway, they didn't have anything. I was hoping they'd have something worth adding to my build. I came home more discouraged than I had planned. For one, most of their stuff is ready for a landfill. And two, I can always wait for a sale. I also noticed the rise of pre-built start up companies. They're everywhere now a days. Everyone wants to sell you a prebuilt for $50-$100 a month.

I pulled out my 20-year-old electric guitar that was entry-level when I got it, and it had a bad hum on the amp that'd get worse when touching the strings. I don't splurge often, but I decided to this time. Gave myself a $300 limit and decided to cruise pawn shops or Guitar Center until I found a good deal.

Very first place I tried had a blue Fender Squier for $130 that looked like it hadn't been used much. They go for $320 new. All the notes sounded in tune, so I got it.

Pawn stores are the way to go for jewelry. Glad that worked out for you. I might try a pawn store if these RAM prices don't drop.

Try out the Tomodachi Life Demo, it's pretty funny, kinda like an absurdist DIY Sitcom.
 
I bought a new Secretlab chair. It arrived with visible water damage and I have spent the last week trying to get them to replace it. The chair clearly got wet and reeks of mildew. I think they are going to replace it now (maybe, still waiting), but I'm really disappointed in their customer service.

Eh, I'm in the market for a new car and I assure you, it will be something I would probably normally have never imagined. Being an adult sucks at times.

I'm just trying to pick the most exciting of a list of PHEVs.

The cars I really like are either horrendously unreliable or just cost too much in fuel.....

The stand belongs to my former roommate (yes, her) but I used to have a nice entertainment center but it blocked the window.

I want to get a 55 - 60 inch modern television. Saw some people locally selling theirs for cheap prices with good seller ratings.

The game I'm working on right now.

I bought a Plaud Note Pro AI Voice Recorder/Note Take from Amazon. I'm hoping it will prevent us from manually keeping minutes during QA. Testing her out today, high hopes!

make sure to check the input latency on a new tv, it can kill the experience if to high, latency takes #1 priority to me when buying a new tv

I'll most likely be posting here once I get it. It's probably going to be a couple of weeks due to finances. It's been long overdue. The TV I have now in that picture is about 20 years old.
 
A new bike. I am pretty excited about it - Trek FX Sport AL 3. It replaces my 20 year old bike (which I like, but it is heavy and with not the best components).

I love bicycling. I am on holidays soon and plan to do lots during my staycation. My new bike has:
  • hydraulic disc brakes
  • aluminum frame with carbon fiber front fork
  • 1 x 10 drivetrain (this seems to be popular now)
For my test drive at the bike shop, they started me on the Trek FX 6. That was an amazing bike - all carbon fibre and with electronic shifting. But too expensive for my use case.

The most noticeable difference from my old bike is the hydraulic disc brakes - a big step up from rim brakes.

I wish I could own something like that but in the UK it would get stolen in 0.2 seconds of me leaving it outside anywhere
 
We recently upgraded our home office desk and it now it has a lot more surface area and some storage space. Perfect for some peripherals, essentially.

I recently got a Logitech G29 racing wheel and pedals for Forza 6 and I'm loving it. Decided to splurge further with 52X Flight stick, throttle and rudder pedals. Ready to dive back into flight sims after a few years away. I threw away my last setup because it was hardly working and the drivers had not been updated in like 10 years. Excited to see how my PC can handle DCS, MS Flight Sim, etc. after a round of upgrades since the last time I played anything like that.

G29 is a decent enough wheel but honestly upgrade to a moza r3 or r5, night and day experience

I bought a cheaper model, without GPS and only a camera. Works well for my small garden and after putting up a few boundaries at his favorite spots to fail, he works flawlessly. Called him 'Mowhammed'.
There's something serene watching him find his path. A bit like the old DVD logo bouncing.
 
Got the 12 inch before the weather starts getting too hot. I already have the 18 inch and it runs whisper quiet. Managed to grab an open box deal on ebay for 65 bucks

Prime Day buys that were a little impulsy but totally necessary. Decided to stop kidding myself and just declare my 2022 Asus G14 dead, and giving Acer a try:

Went all out on the DCS world sale going on right now, picked up the F4 phantom and holy crap did heatblur over deliver on it, thing is badass. Also just picked up the DCS f100 as I want to experience the sabre dance first hand, picked up outpost campaign for the apache module + syria map. Bought the F14 tomcat as a prerequisite for the ultimate upgrade later.

I feel like I made a real dumb purchase. I was looking at getting some Marvel cards because my step daughter loves the X-Men show so much. I wasn't paying attention and thought I'd get 2 of these Chrome 2026 sets. After making myself the highest bidder at like $32, I realized what I just won. I won a chance to win all the "Death" character cards. So out of X many packs, I get whatever is pulled of said character. Meaning I bought a "chance". It's so stupid. I get ToS but this whole "chance" purchase is predatory. Makes me dislike the whole trend of trading cards and I loved those back in the 90's.

So my July purchases have been 50/50 so far. I did go ahead and preorder Onimusha.
