First room in the trailer looks like that Kickstarter art for Mighty No. 9, the one that got everyone hyped for the game. I like that the dev isn't afraid of the comparison.

I just read on the Steam forums that the bosses roam around the area looking for you, can in-fight with each other, and have hidden rage mode conditions. That's neat.

There's homage and then there's blatant rip off and this one unfortunately leans too far into the latter.

Shame because it looks well envisioned and very well polished and put together.

I wish they've have just angled for a more unique and distinctive aesthetic (& maybe a new core gameplay hook; away from "shoot with your megaman gun arm") and just pivoted to that at the last minute.

I hope Capcom don't do a (Palworld) Nintendo here because they'd probably have similar grounds to.

I thought Mega Man 11 looked more like this than what the final product of Mighty No. 9 turned out to be.
This was a huge disappointment and Keiji Inafune should be ashamed to show his face. I stop short of spitting on his memory.

It still pisses me off that they went with the absolute dogshit 2.5D art instead of something like this. Same thing with Bloodstained, honestly. And someone always swoops in and is like "but 2D art is so expensive!" Shut up. They made a shitload of money on these Kickstarters and they absolutely could have delivered this.

Anyway, this game looks decent. Still 2.5D and isn't quite there artistically, but it has potential.
