Nothing gets people's rage or mockery going on the internet than things the don't affect them.I mean, it looks very nice as a product overall. It's insane the level of anger it gets just for (1) not giving into the arms race that insists everything has to be next-gen, and (2) not subsidizing the hardware... despite the fact that everything is so much dramatically cheaper over time than it is on consoles, and you'll own 10x the great games in a few years for the same amount of spend.
You failed math I see I know it's meant to be a joke but jokes are meant to be funny6x the horsepower, 6x the price
Steam Deck is now almost $800 for the 512GB model too...6x the horsepower, 6x the price
I could have taken the bite if its 599. Not the absurd 1000 dollars.
TBHI could have taken the bite if its 599. Not the absurd 1000 dollars.
Gotta say I might have done the same if this were $600 or thereabout.
But if this two things happen at the same time next year; big price drop around 200 to 300 dollars and big improvement from upcoming FSR4, well, I might take a bite.TBH
If it launched under a grand for the 2tb controller combo I would've sold my PC for it. For a lot of reasons I'd have been okay with it and yes, understand the concept of small form factor but no.

Valve seriously needs to consider selling a barebones version. I have ram and a SSD I can put in this thing myself. Disassembly doesn't look that complicated
Why does this sound salty? You failed math I see I know it's meant to be a joke but jokes are meant to be funny
i know this is the big thing to be upset about, but its not really there fault....literally everything costs more now. Iphone is about to raise their prices due to ram, they tried to make it $780..6x the horsepower, 6x the price
this it is very sad I got mocked for wanting oneI mean, it looks very nice as a product overall. Missing another 10x horseshit to be considered as purchasable.6X the horse power of the Steam Deck.

I've had a pretty amazing experience with the Steam Deck so far. I bought it to tackle my steam library, mainly because i don't always want to sit at a desk to play games, and I travel every now and again. It fits into my habits really well and i use it to play smaller and older games.Who the hell is this is even for? It's not for console players cause they already have a console and don't need this. It's not for PC guys cause why would a PC guy pay over a grand for an underpowered box that you can't customize parts wise. It's not for casuals cause it's too expensive. It's not for ANYONE!
