Western devs have a habit of focusing on graphics and story over gameplay. It is the polar opposite for developers in Asia, where combat is first and foremost. It is the wrong approach by most western developers. Gamers want fun and unique gameplay loops. Start by investing in that and then put resources toward graphics and cinematics as the studio grows. Expecting a 100 person studio to be able to do both is asinineSame dev as the previous plague tale games, which were pretty good! Shocking how rough these games become the moment they try to expand scope and mechanics. Just like Senua. When you truly attempt to make something more ambitious, that isn't just graphics, the difference between top tier devs and the rest becomes clear as day.
They mixed up my order a few times and shipped it very late once. I dont get these HD reworks, sure they look nice but nobody is zooming all the way in to see individual stitching so whilst the textures do look amazing the world still looks like a game from 2015, no amount of sharp textures is going to make up for the sparse low detail last gen world

Let's not get silly with not much better than V talk. Looks like a lighting downgrade but that could be explained by the TOD but maybe someone with more knowledge could weigh in.Naive of me I was expecting it to look like the trailer.

We'll need to see a gameplay trailer to form a real opinion, but in the In-game screenshot, the lighting seems to have taken a significant hit.I´d not stoop that low, the overall density is definitely a big jump, too, but yeah that looks much more in line with what I´d expect the current consoles being able to display. The RT limitations with the finer details are also very apparent and pretty much in line with the general RT resolution issues we`ve seen on the consoles so far.
Maybe we`ll get a PT mode on PC, but Rockstar isn`t exactly known for going the extra mile for PC and I doubt the PS6 would be able to handle that.

This gen the consoles have very hard limitations concerning what`s possible in regards to what we`d refer to as the "next gen look" here. That look almost exclusively comes from features that either don`t run on the consoles at all or only in very compromised form, and no amount of budget can overcome sheer lack of performance.
That Cutscene-Gameplay comparison pretty much shows exactly the issues we`ve seen in a lot of other games already.
Yea, like cool breakable glass they were spewing on about earlier, touch of random detail, etc. This is what drives my erections in games more than definition or traced rays.I called the downgrade but it was not hard to predict really.

Dunno man, DS2 had big difference in cutscenes vs gameplay too, who knows how it all will look on topend pc definitive pt version maxed out, we all know ps360 gta5 aka launch console versions cant hold the handle to definitive pc experience(or even base ps5) in all areas, far just beyond framerate or iqThose 2 screenshots display differences that are simply beyond the sheer in-game / cutscene fidelity.
