I've seen a huge trend lately of onlyfans models developing a Goth aesthetic of some sort to pander to gooners online.
Apparently, they've been fetishizing a sub culture that is inherently anti-establishment.

How can you practice a crude form of capitalism and claim to be Goth at the same time? None of this makes any sense whatsoever. I've been told by some to let people be and that they're just having fun and I've been told by others that I have a good point.
They're making true Goths look bad and this might start to inflame a culture war.

As a cyberpunk myself, I've got my fair share of posers doing this in my scene, too. Thoughts?

People steal the goth aesthetic all the time but its unusually resistant to commercialization as a lifestyle because nobody actually wants to be miserable all the time, listen to nothing but drones and noise, and read difficult books and poetry so they don't get gatekept.

I understand it now that im older, since everyone is everything now there's nothing unique. I miss seeing punk skaters, Goths, emos and whatever new scene was popping up. Kept things interesting even when they were getting older and professional.

I thought I was getting older and wasn't into it anymore to see these things but apparently this was being documented like 10-15 years ago that subcultures were vanishing at an alarming rate.

The sub culture still exists, but some are attempting to water it down.
Even music events advertised as Goth are playing rock and heavy metal music , but not real Goth music.

It's very irritating.

People are led to believe that true Goths don't exist, when they in fact do.
It's a sub culture that has been heavily diluted through all these posers and people fall for it.
