Resident Evil Zero rebooted mid-dev & Capcom Div 1 is currently leading it post reboot.

About Capcom Div 1:

They're a support team on most Resident Evil games, but the two Resident Evil projects they had the heaviest hand in was RE:3 & the RE:4 Separate Ways DLC (they originally were leading RE:4 too until Capcom Dev 1 took over, yes time is a flat circle sometimes). They work was shared with K2 as well.

To my knowledge the RE:0 Remake under them wasn't bad, it was alright. But Capcom did think it could be better and to keep up the momentum of the series they decided to take it on to develop and refine it further.

Why do people dislike 3R? It was a breath of fresh air for me after how restricting 2R was but that make sense as both Leon and Clair were rookies. Was it because it leaned more toward action? I personally liked it. Also do we know who's handling 1? That's more important than 0.

Its because they simplified SO MUCH the story it could almost be a DLC for 2R. I mean, Racoon City on Re3 was almost a open world game in itself, with side quests and what not... In 3R, it was just a bunch of corridors (and dont get me started on the clock tower :-D)

If true, then once again I don't know what the hell Team C is for because they haven't released anything big for years.

Updated list based on new rumor
  • Resident Evil 7 (2017) - Team A
  • Resident Evil 2 Remake (2019) - Team B
  • Resident Evil 3 Remake (2020) - Team C (?)
  • Resident Evil Village (2021) - Team A (Director was a lead designer on 7)
  • Resident Evil 4 Remake (2023) - Team B
  • Resident Evil Requiem (2026) - Team A (Same director as 7)
  • Resident Evil CV Remake (2027) - Team B (Recently confirmed in interview same team)
  • Rumored Resident Evil 0 Remake (2028) - Team C ???
  • Rumored Resident Evil 10 (2030) - Team A

It was too short and they cut a bit of content.

I personally liked the game because the game was a good introductory experience for speedrunning, and nearly every extra in the game encourages speedruns so I think that's what they were going for.

I don't think RE fans wanted that though.

Team B bringing the best of the best.

B on 0 would be based but they are full up with CV. I'm ok with team A on 0.

The RE3 guys were originally making it? Thank fuck for the reboot. The game can still be saved.

CV is worse.
CV biggest problem was how much backtracking it had.
You had to backtrack more in that game, than the first 3 games combined. very exhausting.

Re0 would be tolerable if it wasn't for it's shitty low inventory space.
This is ESP bad in re0, re 1 2 and 3 it wasn't as bad.

I think people are going to get antsy about no new RE experience for multiple years in favor of remakes.

The balance of new and old that they have going now is good, Team C just needs to get it together.

Team C finna make either DMC remake or have been moved to a new revelations project.

Team C is like a combo of K2, an internal studio acquired by Capcom in the 2000s, and an external developer made up of ex-Platinum Games people called M-Two (not to be confused with M2). These teams were the main creative staff for RE3, Resident Evil 4: Seperate Ways DLC, and also have supported Village and Requiem. RE is taking a Rockstar/Ubisoft/COD approach where they get a bunch of support studios to help.

I don't want them on DMC 1 remake. I want that one to have the works, same with DMC 2 if that ever happens.

They should be given easy remakes, like DMC 3 or something. Leave the actual fixers to fix the mistakes of the past.

You think they'll bring in the Pragmata team to help?

I imagine a lot of big companies like Capcom which work on multiple projects at once will have a gaggle of tenured staff who just kind of float between projects wherever they are needed. That is how CDPR works across its projects and you can see how the numbers on each of their projects swell and recede as they go through the different stages of development. CDPR are just more transparent about their development than most.

It would be funny if they kept in the drop item mechanic from the original game. I stupidly dropped the granade launcher and never went back to get it. Good game but it had it's flaws. I hope the remake fixes them

It's the cool thing to hate, ignore them (y)

So they pull them off Zero, a game nobody really cares for, but didn't think to step in while they developed the dud that was RE3:R? Ffs Capcom come on, 3R should have been a huge release not a fart in the wind

RE:0 was pretty mediocre in my point of view. Character renderings in CG sequences look pretty bland and low-budget looking too.

I am excited to see them remaking RE:0 though - I do hope they'll bring a new life to the story and all. Moving train is a pretty neat setting if done right, and they could add a lot of stuff and drop that "leave item here" thingie - or do it a lot better.

They cut a lot of the original city environment and vibe. Back in the day, people were hyped to see RC in the state of falling apart and being able to explore it after the original RE2 came out. Remake removes a lot of the environments, condenses the city sections into a donut shop, and makes nemesis an easy jobber. It's not a bad game, it's just not a good remake.

For me, they would be perfect. Bring back that Dodge cause of the cramped spaces on the train and make it a quick fun romp. We won't have the padding from the constant back and forth due to no stash so it's going to be short.

I know I'm in the minority, but RE3 Remake was super fun and replayable cause of the length and dodge roll.

RE3R was great, I loved it. Never once was tempted to play the original RE3 because the game's entire gimmick is unkillable Nemesis chasing you around constantly. I thought RE3R would suck due to that, and I found out he's barely in the game - loved it. Turns out Mr. X is way worse in RE2R (still a great game except for those parts, you can mod him out on PC).
