Watching the God of War director interview on Skill Up, and she goes the reason why she came back to the studio was because this particular studio does not like to do the same thing again. That they want Every game to feel new.

ok, great, but that doesnt explain ragnorak where ssm devs literally said they wanted to do the same thing again. and then made what is effectively a DLC.

They have basically been only making GOW games since 2005.

GOW 1, 2, 3, Ascension - same gameplay and style

GOW 2018, Ragnarok - same gameplay and style

Wasn't she confusing this studio with something else? :messenger_grinning_sweat:

I guess Sons of Sparta counts as something different....

Funny because Ragnarok felt step by step like DLC lol

halo looks amazing at times and exceptionally midtier in other levels. They released a 30 minute demo that starts off in an enemy base which is just devoid of any kind of detail. Then you go outside and it's a snow level and once again it's just snow. Nothing else going on. And this is the problem with updating and remaking PlayStation 2 era games. Unless you do a complete remake of the level design, and layout, these remakes will feel dated.

PS3 era onwards remakes can probably get away with it because games simply had a lot more complex levels, but these halo levels just feel empty and devoid of details.

It will be interesting to see the new levels which look far better despite running on the same engine.

I also was not super impressed with the 30 minute Halo demo. It's very sharp looking but it's still just regular ole Halo. The indoor sections in particular are underwhelming. There's just not much going on.

I will say I watched the deep dive on the new Gears and there were some impressive bits there. I still miss the Gears 1 atmosphere and grit but it seems like they're determined to leave that behind. They even retconned the original game with that abomination of a remake/remaster.

A true work of art. Gameplay looks on part with what I'm expecting for a TR title too. I'm in.

I miss so much old lara gameplay. It was amazing to figure out how to climb somewhere using those kind of moves. Imo best TR was always for me TR2 Golden Mask expansion. It was heavily climbing/navigating puzzles and i loved them so much.

If new tr play like the old clunky ass titles i'm not gonna even bother with it.

The new ones are definitely less unique and more forgettable but they were at least more pleasant to control.
