Reportedly, this has the same issues as XB:X
They're saying it's got similar problems but the comparison video makes it look so much better now

Yeah I was gonna avoid this thread going forward, but unfortunately this new update for Xenoblade 1 does have a ton of performance issues that even bother me (and I usually try to look past this stuff). This issue honestly seems overblown. I've been playing through XCX on Switch 2 and haven't had any issues that keep me from enjoying the game visually.
Maybe if you play the game while zoomed in 200x then it's an issue but on my TV, it looks great while running at 60fps![]()
What do you mean you don't play your games zoomed in all the time? How else would you know that the wall on the back had some shimmering? This issue honestly seems overblown. I've been playing through XCX on Switch 2 and haven't had any issues that keep me from enjoying the game visually.

No it doesn't. I'm pretty disappointed in this "upgrade" and I didn't mind the XCX one at all.![]()
this doesn't really feel like a smooth 4k60...
I'm curious, what do you mean by butchered localization?I still need to finish Xenoblade 1.
I'll play Xenoblade 2 on emulator so I can patch out this terrible, butchered localization.
But as I still haven't even bought Xenoblade 3, I'll definitely get the Switch 2 edition of that one.
December for XBC3 is a long wait![]()
I can't afford all these games and updates either. I really wanted Xenoblade Trinity, 'cause even at $80-$90, it would be a steal for this trilogy. The first one is the only I don't have for the switch and I'm not paying $60 for it.![]()

The performance is the real bother. This ain't great but still does look better.
XCX on Switch 2 looked so bad I had the game refunded. It's unbelievable how much people don't see the same thing. No wonder Nintendo just go on with selling upgrades like these.I've been playing through XCX on Switch 2
Yeah it looks just fine, but this performance during gameplay blowsThe performance is the real bother. This ain't great but still does look better.
It's nowhere near as egregious as X. I've been playing a bit in handheld mode and it's worth the upgrade to me.
Well I'm not sure about 4k, but it is definitely not doing 60.![]()

Why do some people care about this? Just don't buy it yourself lolHow many times can you sell the same game?
The video I shared specifically compares boost mode to Switch 2 update. Your milage may vary.Is it meaningfully better vs boost mode?

Night and day difference.

It's zoomed in.What's that blurry mess on the left and where was is taken from?
I spent more than 120 h on the switch version and didn't look nearly as bad as that picture
These muppets have no clue what they're talking about and it seems like half the people ITT have forgotten what the issues with XBX are. They're saying it's got similar problems but the comparison video makes it look so much better now
The filter around the player makes it look like the poor guys left arm is broken![]()

Lol great job of dissecting a screenshotWell I'm not sure about 4k, but it is definitely not doing 60.
It's actually doing 1. A still frame.
Now if we are talking about a video of the game that's a different story.

The game not being native 4k and therefor a bit soft isn't the issue, it's this shit:

Warping/deforming textures everywhere as soon as you start moving the camera (and this also affects ground textures, everything you see)
Looks like an oilify or xbrz filter is being applied to distant objects. Like a bad implementation of Skyward Sword's Impressionism filter. The game not being native 4k and therefor a bit soft isn't the issue, it's this shit:

I'm going to try and pre-post a typical response I see after a question like this to beat someone to the punch:Why do some people care about this? Just don't buy it yourself lol
Gotta ask Naughty Dog for that answer. How many times can you sell the same game?

So there are rumblings that they're censoring Pyra and Mythra (again) for the remaster of 2.
So there are rumblings that they're censoring Pyra and Mythra (again) for the remaster of 2. It's still too early to know for sure, but I sure have less and less goodwill to go around for this kind of thing. Guess we'll see as more footage comes out.
If it does happen, I bet my bottom dollar is those fucking wanks at Treehouse driving the whole thing.
