The Numbers, Mason, What Do They Mean?

I'll believe it when I see it. Re-releasing old games is their emergency break glass option. Every player not in the HQ is one less player potentially buying microtransactions.

In a world where Microsoft weren't complete retards and actually managed their IPs, we would've had a MCC style Modern Warfare trilogy complete with multiplayer.

I guess this will be campaigns only, like MW2 Remastered from 2020.

Why would they drop it now before MW4? Surely end of 2027 and give cod an off year.

Timing is weird, I agree. But I also don´t mind playing the campaigns again.

This was before Warzone became a massive success and a bundle selling machine. They actually released in the same month.

They never released MW3 for the reason I listed above. So once again I'll believe it when I see it.

Blops 1 is one of my favorite campaigns. Blops 2 is ok.

Blops 3 has a co op focus but has an amazing premise. It is a really messed up story but the actual gameplay does not live up to the story. I won't spoil it but when you understand what happened you will appreciate the campaign a lot more.

Cold War was great, but Blops 6 was a real let down. Blops 7 I have not yet completed but it is not really grabbing me.

Motherfuckers act like they haven't been playing them for 18 years and counting.

That's like getting excited for a Fifa or Madden remaster. Hell, not even. At least those games have different players.

Just the single player campaigns? That's lame, even if BO2 branching story was decent and it had a lot interesting drone warfare concepts way ahead of its time.
BO2's multiplayer was fk'n amazing, they could have kept supporting it as an evergreen game with new weapons and maps like Valve does with Counterstrike to this day, but they didn't. Except they kinda did, because it became the basis for the mobile game.

There have been a few more leaks and datamines since this post, so I am starting to believe this might actually happen, possibly even this Friday. And before I get another well earned 'fell for it again' trophy to add to my wall, there are a couple of reasons:

Firstly, this is the first year a game isn't launching on old gen consoles. This port is a PS4 game (with PS5 enhancements) so it makes sense that they would want to release something to make some money from the considerable player base still on older systems.

Secondly, the MW4 beta window has not been announced yet. On average this runs 40 days before the release of the game, placing it in early September.

Activision won't allow these ports to overlap with their new release, so shadowdropping them imminently makes the most financial sense.

Finally the tinfoil hat theory is that June 19th is an important date in these games as it's when the final mission Judgement Day takes place in Black Ops 2.

are these remasters like they did with modern warfare 1 and 2 ?
No these are ports of the pc version of the games. PS4 1440p, PS5 4K via backwards compatibility. Potentially a 120fps mode.

This also means that they are on the modern Playstation Network, so hackers on the PS3 versions will be walled off.

The file sizes listed on Twitter indicate that all DLC is present. I hope this includes the 4 zombies maps from World at War in the BO1 port.
A hacker put me on a infinite loop of multiplayer probation on Black Ops 2 for Xbox 360, so I can't play it online anymore as the 5 minute timer keeps restarting over and over and there is no fix, so crossing my fingers for it all!

Oh gods. Was there no one competent they could use to port two of the best games in the series?
I mean they've done a lot of ports. TLOU and Arkham Knight stand out as their very poor pc ports, but they've done a lot that were perfectly fine as well.

I'm sure they can handle porting old CoD games that will run on anything.
