Nintendo Direct June 9th, 2026 |OT| Let's-A-Go-Again

I'm begging they actually port some quality titles. provide news for SW1 game upgrades on new hardware and Mario Kart World DLC or something that gives more life to that game.

If they saying Doom Dark Ages coming then I want to see Doom 2016 and Eternal getting frames unlocked .

Is there a high resversion of this without the ui?

Sad that our friend Germuso that surely loves Nintendo is not going to be tomorrow with us to celebrate this wonderful direct…

Back to the topic… Super Metroid remake rumors are strong.

I feel like I'm in the minority here, but I hope that if they remake Super Metroid, they go with a pixel art/HD-2D style, rather than 3D models and environments.

The original game looks absolutely gorgeous, and while Metroid Dread didn't look bad, per se, it definitely didn't have the same atmosphere and charm as the sprite-based games (and especially Super Metroid).

New Zelda is going to have a photorealistic, gritty UE5 look. With a bunch of "emerging from dark interior to bright exterior" moments and tons of nanite rock piles.

HD-2D is not an general style, dude. It's those square-enix rpgs that have an specific look, 16-bits with 3D backgrounds that try to replicate the 16-bit era with a lot of visual flair. Not even that star ocean 2 remake had the HD-2D seal because it was 32-bits with realistic backgrounds.

Did you not see where I said "pixel art/HD-2D"? The implication is that I want a traditional pixel art style or an HD-2D style that mixes pixel art with some more modern assets/environments. I'm not sure what you think the "gotcha" is here.

Again, HD,2D is an very specific style and is only an square-enix thing.

You're being stupidly pedantic. Everyone knows that HD-2D has become a popular shorthand for a game that mixes classic pixel sprites with modern HD assets.
No, I'm just saying what the reality is. Just because some people are dumb it doesn't mean you should go with them. Unless...

Yeah man, because abstract concepts are "real" in a way that transcends popular usage. Get the fuck out of here. The purpose of language is to communicate meaning, and everyone who read my comment knew exactly the sense in which I was using "HD-2D," including you. And unless you're a trademark lawyer for Square Enix, the only reason you took issue with was I said was to try to score internet nerd points by being a pendant.

Can't fucking wait! Even though the Switch 2 is easily the least powerful of the "big 3", I'm always more excited for a Nintendo Direct as opposed to the Playstation and Xbox shows. Nintendo generally delivers with their 1st party, and I'm here for it!

I'm hoping to see a glimpse of the new 3D Mario game and hopefully we get confirmation and a release date for the OoT remake! Plus other goodies as well.

Here's hoping it's a fucking banger!

I'm hoping for a new Zelda game but doubt that's going to happen.

More likely is the rumored Ocarina of Time remake but if it looks really good than excite me.
