Xbox: "These [E-Day and Clockwork] are not timed exclusives. Games already announced for multiplatform releases will stick to that plan"

I don't understand why they are releasing games on Steam then vs just their own Windows Store. Mind you, I am glad since Clockwork Revolution looks fairly interesting, but if they are doing exclusives its weird that they are allowing Steam releases.

😂

Grubb also saying there is a finished version of gears e day for ps5.

Tick tock tick tock, just a matter of time asha comes to the same conclusion as Phil.

So the guy that said Gears of Wars would not be released on PS5 now says there there is a already finished build for it...

YOu know what ? Make sense. MS (not xbox, MS) knows xbox NEEDS to make money, and Gears of War Reloaded was a fart in the wind. So PS5 release will be a (probably necessary) Plan B ...

If they were truly committed to growing Xbox then they wouldn't release the games on PC.

And finding a way to lower the cost of the consoles. There's nothing wrong with saying "we want to grow our platform and exclusives will do that." But when nobody can afford the platform in the first place, it won't be doing much growing.

No one's going to jump on Xbox after the 10+ years of bad direction. There's too many game choices to bother with them.

Good luck losing more money though and having me some. I'm sure those subs will pay for themselves any day now.

Steam 100% refutes the all in on Xbox messaging. They know most of their fanbase is on steam and don't want to see games on PlayStation.

I hope they cancel the Xbox Series S, and only release games on Xbox Series X. No PC. Nothing on PC.

And then, finally, the ultimate plan comes to fruition: Project Helix 360! Everything exclusive to that system.

Do it Asha, and you will recieve the mandate of heaven!

This!!!

If Microsoft would make now all Games from their IP's exclusive to XBox Consoles then Microsoft would easily outsell Sony Consoles in the Future.

Call of Duty can stay Multiplatform, but everything else should be exclusive to XBox Consoles!!!

Microsoft is a fucking dumb Company by giving away all their IP's to PC and competitors Consoles!!!

Ultimately, at the end of the day, I don't think most people give a crap if the games are going to be console exclusive or not.

They didn't even commit to no more PlayStation releases. As far as we know, everything remains exactly how it has been except for two games.

Lmao you would think so but Asha believes otherwise

The people who do are extremely vocal about it, though. And Xbox has been extending their ear to the very vocal Twitter base for a long time now, and it's part of why they're in the situation they're in.

I agree with you. I find the whole thing performative and a waste of time and money but man am I here to see it all end up making a mess.

If they truly wanted to make a statement, they'd go all in on it. But they deliberately aren't.

Exactly. It's all a show for short term goodwill and maybe a temporary bump in sales that won't be sustainable. Maybe Asha is planning to pump and dump.

This is what I don't understand. People saying they're giving away their games to PC. PC IS Microsoft. Unless you're running Linux or something and that's a tiny minority these days.

Steam is far more synonymous with PC gaming than Microsoft. Doesn't matter if we are talking about Steam on Windows or Steam on Linux

They probably concluded that heading into this holiday they needed a differentiator. Being honest, with the sheer volume of competition in October sales projections couldn't be great.

I wouldn't be surprised in the least though if in about 12 months time they released an add-on for it, and the "complete edition" ended up on PS5.

Honest truth though, is at the of the FY numbers aren't up significantly, I'd expect another pivot.

The console is never going to grow with that strategy. If anything, it is going to shrink as more people move to PC/Steam.
They will be earning money both ways. They own windows 95% of gamers play on Windows.

PC is part of Xbox strategy including their next hardware. Fanboys need to accept that.

Of course they will pivot again after sales suck big time

LOL

They will say "We tried, but the sales weren't there"

Reading is hard.

Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution will be XBOX console exclusives.

Xbox series X probably sold around 13 million, sure yours it's the best strategy

September and October are going to be brutal. I think we'll see a lot of games underperform in that time frame that otherwise might not just because of the absolute glut of releases scheduled for it. They're all terrified of GTA 6, but GTA isn't coming out until the end of November. There's 2 other weeks that enterprising studios could slot stuff into with no competition.

For better or worse, Gears of War looks like... more Gears. People who like the franchise will love it, but I don't think it will attract new players, let alone sell more consoles.
Clockwork, as interesting as it looks, I can't see that game being a system seller, looks like Dishonored combined with Bioshock Infinite, but I doubt it will do anything better than those, not even sell better.
This is just so weird, but I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens, for all I know this is just their last attempt to go back to how things were and if this doesn't move the needle they'll backtrack again.
