If you can't tell the difference between a button mash vs a skill based combat system, I'm positive you don't actually enjoy complexity in your games and play everything on easy. That's fine that you do, my wife just likes to see the story in games too, but there's no point discussing this if that is your perspective.

Dude, you're doing that on a pad with buttons lol. Sorry, that's just what it is.

Most of what we do in a game is designed and it is mostly an illusion of control. You cannot do more than that. You might be mashing a single button or a sequence of buttons, but you are still mashing! You've mistaken that for skill.

Sure, you can mash faster than me, good for you! OR you can mash buttons in a set sequence and keep that in memory, again, good for you! But still pressing that button/s.

Everything you said is correct. The timeline doesn't make sense. I agree. I also agree that Jean's outfit is lame. But you also mentioned the possibilities of multi-verse stuff and insomniac doing some retconning. Those are valid reasons to be angry if you don't like that. I'm primarily speaking of the belief that the entire thing is because of SBI. For people thinking that, where is their proof?

Don't get me wrong. I'm annoyed by SBI like the next guy but let's get proof before bringing out the pitchforks.

True, but I don't blame the skepticism either. Anyway, even though I'm pretty cynical on this in this thread, I'm a big X-Men fan, and want to like this game, and and hopeful that when a real trailer is released with plot and in a structure that makes the game look more interesting, I'll be hyped again!

For over a year since this was teased and looked amazing, it's been one of the games I've been most looking forward to playing, along with FFVII Part 3, and DQ12 whenever that happens and some assorted others. Hopefully all this worry from the footage ends up being a lot of nothing. To be honest, it's pretty hard for a game to release much at all these days without getting picked apart for some reason or another. Characters are too ugly, characters are too young, characters don't have the correct outfits, characters are missing / the wrong characters are in the game, and so on. It defnitely feels harder than back in the 90s and early 2000s to make everyone happy.

I looked at a lot youtube video reactions to this game over the last week, all positive reactions on the blood/gore in the game as well.

Why are people in here so miserable that the blood is too much? In here AND in ERA?
