Nintendo needs to put out Pro Joy-Cons already

It's time Nintendo. Make joycons that have proper ergonomics and a normal dpad already.

All the third party options suck. They either lack features or have weird quirks.

^ 20 minute review and at the end he's like "hopefully someone puts out something that combines the best of both controllers." Great.

Switch is a year old and there's still no good options. Do the job Nintendo.

I just can't get over the fact that they managed to give us the same shitty d pad and no haptic triggers that EVERYONE complained about for the past 7 years....

I hate these companies with a passion. I just realized I have a faulty Switch 2 today as well. I never play docked mode usually so i didn't know its a known thing about Switch 2 overheating. The few times I did use the dock I chalked it up to just certain games causing overheating. Well lately ive been wanting to play more docked and it gets EXTREMELY HOT with most games.

Heard Nintendo's official stance is "make sure your playing in area with good ventilation". Fuck Nintendo

The need all the Joycon features including the rumble and mouse mode.
3rd party controllers always missing features.
Also button remapping. Switch 1 pro joycons some were not allowed to be remapped.

They do. I happen to have the Mobapad M12's in that video. They are pretty good.
How is the dpad? Is it similar to the Xbox Series one? I saw people complaining about executing dragon punch inputs. Not sure if skill issue or dpad.

Yeah it would be great if they released their own. I would want them to focus on ergonomics over portability when designing them.

Those use wireless even when connected so are a pass from me.

We do need something sadly Nintendo isn't going to be the ones that make something.

If at any point it was overheating, that should've been a red flag for you.

there is nothing PRO about nintendo controllers.

Even the switch lite dpad is pure shite.
Just try any streetfighter game..
Dear lord

Even tetris fucking sucks

I haven't played Street Fighter so I can't comment. You can switch between two dpads though. A traditional and radial.

Here is a summary of an 18 minute (!) video:

A comparison between two third-party Switch 2 Joy-Con replacements: the MobaPad M12 HD (~$100) and the Nixie Hyperion 3 (~$95-127 depending on discount).

MobaPad wins on:

  • D-pad feel (softer, less clunky)
  • Triggers (more instantaneous)
  • Vibration (actual HD rumble vs the Nixie's rough, overpowering vibration)
  • Battery life (15-20hrs claimed vs 6-8hrs)
  • NFC support
  • Build quality / plastic feel
  • Power-saving TMR sticks (vs Hall effect)
Nixie wins on:

  • Ergonomics (larger, more comfortable)
  • Stick height and texture (taller, more aggressive grip)
  • System integration (recognised as Switch 2 controllers, can wake the console, wireless wake works too)
  • C button (opens Game Chat instantly vs MobaPad's convoluted M button workaround)
  • 9-axis gyro vs 6-axis
  • Charging flexibility (included charging grip, charges in dock with screen off)
  • RGB customisable without an app
Notable MobaPad annoyances: registers as a Switch 1 controller, shows up as USB/wired, can't wake the console (fix promised in a future update), RGB requires the app to change, charging only works with screen on.

Bottom line from the reviewer: would personally pick the Nixie for ergonomics, but wishes he could have the MobaPad's vibration in it. Neither is a complete package.

I ordered the Hyperion 3, been using them over the weekend and they have been great so far.
My main issue with the standard joy-cons is that shooters and fighters were completely unplayable in hand held mode, these fix it.

Played Starship Troopers, Quake 2 and OW and had no issues. Ergonomics and sticks were better than on the Ally X.

In SF6 I had no problem doing BnB's with Dhalsim, Chun-li and C. Viper. D-pad just works.

Somethings to note though:
-I needed to fix the deadzone on the sticks via the app before they worked properly.
-They are big and will add noticable width to the Switch
-Triggers are just ok. Not bad but not great either.
