For some reason, appealing to straight white men is just fucking treason these days
Despite the fact that is a massive demographic that is actually purchasing games
And it's mainly a problem in the west because politics have become so polarizing that it's infiltrated investment groups. These developers know some choices are bad ideas but they can't get funding if they don't include "marginalized" characters
Just look at the Oscars. A film is not eligible if it doesn't featuring a POC or woman in a leading/co lead role. Fucking pure evil

IDK I still don't really see it in Laufey. I agree with almost all of the other examples. Forbidden West, Spiderman 2, SW Outlaws etc. Plenty of stuff to critique in GOW:L. I think the Debra model is the least of our worries. I don't even think it's bad given the context of her just dying. If anything is a small highlight in the shit stew.

Not pursuing Legend of Dragoon as their own household JRPG is a missed opportunity. The first game in a coming franchise usually aren't typically massive hits out of the gate since its still a new thing in the public awareness. Some times, the execs need to take a leap of faith, especially if such a game manages to establish a devoted and vocal cult following. The subsequent instalment(s) carries the potential to elevate the respective IP to new heights.In hindsight rose from legend of dragoon(late psx era) was pure fire:

After so many years, people still talk about Legend of Dragoon. Clearly, its managed to root itself and transcend beyond its release while still being remembered fondly in the gaming community. Was it flawed? Sure. Did it have the potential to get refined and polished in a potential successor with the proper backing and time? I'd claim it did.
Same thing for Days gone 2. That one is ridiculous to me. Sony has the potential to create their own RDR series *right there* with that IP and somehow they're still sleeping on it. It just kinda tells me the guys sitting up in the higher ranks at SIE's management really don't have an eye for potential and are unimaginative stiffs who lean hard on slow, dry, close-minded and stringent methodologies to decide what should have actual continued backing.

I think you have the wrong idea, but thank you for your concern.
Definitely some truth to this. I've noticed average or below average looking women (especially millennials) generally want female designs or even female celebrities to all be DUFFs. Doubly so for transwomen for obvious reasons.
Men of all types on the other hand still want male designs/celebrities to be cool looking and consider them more aspirational than threatening.

Isn't it funny how many people come into this only to tell people they're wrong to discuss it and/or stfu and/or those talking about it are mentally ill/incels/whatever? The subject is clearly labelled, people are discussing both sides of the issue - and yet a person will enter a topic they don't like or have any real interest in only to tell everyone else that there's something wrong with them for talking about it. It's completely irrational behavior and, at times, veering towards unhinged.
We've seen this type of behavior over and over again with these topics. Who would've thought that there's so many arrogant people who really believe people should stfu because they're uncomfortable with a topic. And they don't even have the self-awareness to realize it's their problem, not ours.

Thats why i love death stranding. Sadly it was not appreciated, badly judge, and just a niche. It was a very based game. Fun, addictive and cathartic.

Like i said before, if publisher/dev studio wants their game to sell well(AAA big budget game, not some niche product) they can chose one of 2 templates for protag:
1) Manly masculine male
2) Sexy young hot femine woman
Just look at what gta6 is doing, they got no room for fuck ups so play it smart.
Same way guys dont really wanna play as skinnyfat nerds, we dont wanna play as ugly grannies neither- there is not even 1 successful game in 50+ years of gaming history where u play as old/ugly woman that was financially succesful/made profit, at least when it comes to AAA, and i dont think new gow will be the exception- it will have its sales substantially reduced vs both gow 2018 and ragnarok, only question is by how much, -30%, - 50%? We will find out few months after launch.
That poll doesnt specify protagonists btw, u can have some comic relief clown-alike side character which u dont play as and be w/e, that doesnt prove ppl wanna play as that creature...

I live in Florida, she is attractive for a game since we've been so inundated to the westernized uggos for 10 years or so, but her face would be basic to mid in the sea of Latina mami's that are here. Straight dimes in comparison.
