In every game with hot characters: Leon Kennedy, Lara Croft, 007 First Light -- female streamers tend to get a bit hot and bothered and cheeky when attractive characters are on screen.
Non-jealous, well-adjusted women love the attractive characters as much as us guys do. I agree with this. You want to talk about shitty looking models wtf is Insomniac smoking with this? When they aren't doing cutesy characters on Ratchet their shit is all over the place. The only thing they nailed was the OG Spiderman Peter Parker and they even had to go back and fuck that up.I think in the case of this new God of War it's definitely a lack of make-up - they seem to have done a pretty good job of modeling her, but it's the same as Intergalactic, you take away all makeup and beautification women usually use and it doesn't look good. Her skin and hair looks ratty. So I do think wokism plays a role because they probably feel it would be sexist or something to doll them up a bit when it's just normal lol.
For me, the craziest new one is Jean Grey - she is hideous, and again like with Mary Jane - that character has always been attractive. Like wtf is this.

The solution is to create something, anything, with characters that fit their specific context/story with specific purposes, not to meet some quota and/or pander to an unexisting audience (like sales have proved).
If you have nothing of worth to show, a character's gender, sexuality, or color won't fix a thing.
No one cried foul about Tomb Raider, Bayonetta, Half life alyx, Resident evil (the whole 9 games), Nier Automata, Metroid, A plague Tale, Final fantasy or the other hundred of games that feature people of all colors and sexes...
