I think this tournament will be a turning point in US history.

I don't think the US will win it, but it will be revolutionary to sports in the country. After the World Cup, you'll see more and more Americans embrace football and turn away from their American sports like American Football, Baseball and Basketball. Those sports will turn into forgotten niche sports, and REAL football will be the number one watched sport in the nation.

It'll take time, but by 2040 I think football the US will be bigger than the NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB combined. So much so, that one of them may completely collapse and vanish. The US will admit that a sport invented in little England is the greatest sport on the planet.

Look, I think the US will do well by their standards, I think they'll make it out of their group and I know the sport will only grow from here, as it has been since '94. But bigger than the NFL, NBA? No... Maybe the MLB, but it's gonna take quite a while, still. It's bigger than the NHL, so there's a precedent for soccer outgrowing other sports here in the US. Don't get me wrong, I wish soccer was #1 here in the US and the MLS signing the biggest names in the sport in their prime, not at the end of their career. MLS is still a retirement league, sadly. We can only go up from here.

Yep. The only way is up. But it won't stop growing. It will be, by a large margin, the biggest sport in the US and I'm convinced it'll be bigger than NFL and NBA.

Another reason I want it to happen is because then the conquest of English sport around the world will be complete. England will have conquered the USA via sports
