Did I say that? I said that nothing from Sony has interested me in the last few years.

Gaming isnt doomed at all, like I said, there are plenty of great games to play on all platforms.

ILL is a good pick. It through me off guard because I thought it was going to be a trailer for Code Veronica remake. But this looks interesting and original. Tomb raider, a complete re-imagining and envisioning on the original PS1 game? Good timing for the 30th anniversary of Tomb Raider. Wolverine looks cool as fuck. New Onimusha game, and not a remake/ reboot? Interesting. Until Dawn 2 really surprised me. I almost expected the trailer to be some new
Dead by Daylight DLC or something. A+ Trailer for Until Dawn 2. Psy-Opts : interesting choice for PS2 emulation.

Well, it's easy to do good when you have Third Party games saving the day like they keep doing this whole ass gen...

Nothing besides Tokon and Wolverine (which isn't much to say considering it looks like reskined Spider-Man but gory) were the standout coming from Sony themselves
 
As expected, yet another subpar State of Play from Sony.

Liked:
  • Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis (but if I get it it'll be the PC version)
  • Until Dawn 2 - although the first game had a more interesting setting
  • God of War: Laufey
  • Control Resonant - I was already sold on this one (PC version) from previous showings
  • The Lost Wild looked interesting but I'll withhold further opinion until we know more
Mixed feelings:
  • Onimusha - but I'll try the demo
  • Wolverine - it's appropriately visceral, but it still came across underwhelming, even a bit boring. Felt like a "style over substance" AAA game.
Everything else shown ranged from uninteresting to outright bad.

I think both the Wolverine showing was about 5 minutes longer than necessary, and the GoW Laufey reveal was 10+ minutes too long.
 
The PS5 generation will probably be remembered as the one where Sony had the best exclusives of the previous gen and then spent half this gen figuring out what it wanted to be. Wolverine could still be excellent, but it's not innovative. It's execution.
 
I mostly thought this State of Play was good but I do not think dedicating a whole 20 minutes to a God of War spinoff was a good idea. I could see them dedicating that length of time for an entirely new IP and kind of gameplay.

God of War Laufey looks great but has many tired old tropes with Sony games and it almost felt like a parody. I think making this the last thing will give it some negative reception.

I liked the Wolverine footage, but I kind of lit up during Kemura and Rayman Legends Retold. I think I am just burnt out on Playstation's formula. I love narrative games but I wish Sony would experiment with presentation and not just make everything feel like the same third person over the shoulder action adventure game.
 
Didn't feel much hype going into this after years of disappointment, but I have to say it was a very solid show. Wolverine looks good definitely a day one purchase for me. The new God of War has clearly improved graphically, especially the character models and facial animations. I'm not really feeling the purple aesthetic or the magic cube concept, but it's still a day one buy. Tomb Raider looks promising, and it was nice to see new Tokon characters revealed. The Spider-Man stage looked amazing. Rayman looks beautiful. Until Dawn 2 was a nice surprise as well. I like the choice of environment, although visually it looks a low budget. It's disappointing to see Sony leave PS VR2 behind, but that was expected. Overall: 8/10. Edit: btw where the f was Intergalactic?
