What game are you currently playing?

Finished Lords of the Fallen today. I think it's a really good souls clone, possibly the best. Really enjoyed the art direction, visual variety, and interconnected levels. Could've done with a tad more enemy variety, and there were minor bugs, but nothing that was a deal-breaker. I thought the lamp and Umbral realm mechanic would get tedious but it never really did. Maybe it's because the controls felt intuitive, and getting out of the umbral realm was never very hard if I wanted to. I'm tempted to start a new playthrough right away and going for an agility build or magic since I went classic sword and board. Not sure what I'll play next, but I might come back to this to try the co-op with a buddy. I'll definitely be paying attention to the sequel now since that's supposed to release this year I think.
 
After playing through Assassin's Creed Mirage finally, which I did enjoy though it wasn't quite what I was hoping for it to be in the end, I really hadn't had my fill of the gameplay so I opted to jump straight into Shadows because it was only 30 bucks nearby at walmart.

I have no idea what all the bitching is about, this game is excellent. I absolutely love it so far about 6 hours into it. I think they should have stopped calling these games Assassin's Creed a long time ago but it is what it is and I don't really care.

But I'm thinking I'm really not enjoying the Roguelite/Roguelike element.
I think Roguelites/Roguelikes aren't for me in general.
The repetition becomes extremely tedious.
It doesn't help that Selene has the charisma of a cheese sandwich (She really is intensely dull and unlikeable), and the story is absolute bobbins.
Saved me some money by not buying Saros now I suppose.
 
Ball x Pit was free to play via NSO trials (5/26-6/1) and I just rolled credits. I didn't care much for the demo and my thoughts didn't change much throughout the playthrough even if it has oddly addictive qualities. The drab visuals and bland music don't help things out much, but at its core, I just don't think it creates a very interesting game of Arkanoid/Breakout. One thing that I do think is interesting and came around to from my time in the demo was the base building to unlock characters/perks. Final score: 2/5.
 
A ton of sales going on right now so I bought a bunch of games. Right now doing 007, after that Mina the Hollower, after that The Adventures of Elliot, after that probably Crimson Desert finally.

But then some of the games I bought. Nothing special, just some games I had on my wish list that I was waiting for a deep sale on. Nocturnal, Elypse, Castlevania Dominus, and Berserker Boy.
 
Devil May Cry 5 - Finished 9/10
Completed the game as Vergil. I haven't played this since it released on the PS4, which might explain why I absolutely sucked on this particular playthrough. Forgot all the combos, kept getting hit by very obvious attack, but despite all that I still enjoyed myself. Bury the light is an amazing theme. Don't think I'll play the game as the other characters, to be honest. I think I am edging towards starting Devil May Cry 3.

First Light
Played around three hours so far. Great visuals and solid gameplay.
 
Finally got around to continuing/finishing Space Marine: Master Crafted Edition. Played on Xbox Series X.

I can see why they stopped any future development and the Playstation version will probably never materialize. There's just not enough of any improvement to warrant a second purchase. All they did was increase the resolution and double the framerate. The "new" textures, which are probably all AI upscales, don't really enhance the game any. Their only significant contribution to the game is a new control scheme. Unfortunately, it just doesn't work. It's slower and imprecise. You'll fumble with the controller trying to switch weapons in the middle of a firefight and end up dead because it wouldn't select what you wanted. Also, be aware that you CAN NOT change control schemes while playing the game. You have to quit back to the main menu. This wouldn't really be an issue except that the game defaults to the new modern control scheme and switching to the classic controls in the main menu isn't obvious. You have to rotate through the options with shoulder buttons (on Xbox) to get to the old controls.
It's buggy. I fell through the world a couple of times and got stuck in the floor once. The timing on scripted events can be a bit off. You might have to just sit in a room and wait until the game catches up to where it believes you have progressed. I also had a critical system error crash. The BSOD equivalent on an Xbox, I guess. Never seen that before. I think MS maybe didn't do thorough testing of this one before approving it.
It's still the original game underneath. So it's fun when everything is working well and if you pick the controls you want at the beginning of the game (I highly recommend the classic controls). But the 7th gen version is probably a better experience.

Gonna start Mina the Hollower pretty soon. I regret not backing the Kickstarter because I want a physical copy. I currently have it on Steam but I am thinking about Double Dipping either for PS5 or Switch. Jumping on that, some Crimson Desert and some Elden Ring.
 
Empire at War. I hate it so much. Every couple of years I give it a chance and drop it after two hours.
The land battles are boring. The AI drops fleets three planets behind the frontline. The real time galaxy map is an anxiety generator.
Then I try a prequel mod and it's incomprehensible turboautism.
I don't get this game.
 
Metal Eden, liked this one quite a bit, cool SF art style, shooting/movement felt pretty good. Story a nothing burger.
Next, close to finish Rise of the Ronin and 007 First Light.
 
Taking hiatus from Crimson Desert (absolutely LOVE it!) after finishing chapter 6 to play other games and also because I'd rather finish playing it this Fall.

How do you decide what to play on your Xbox and what to play on your ps5 pro?

I have plenty of big games I want to start on PS5, but I can't seem to settle into one.

So I just default back to another run of The Binding of Isaac or Hades 2 on my Steam Deck
 
On PC: Beat Dishonored. It was great. Started playing Dishonored 2 and it has noticeable frame pacing issues. Sucks cause Dishonored 1 ran glossy smooth.

The One X version running at 60fps would be more than enough for me. It was one of the earlier games to use heavy reconstruction because of the lighting and that holds up for the most part, still.

That's not even the real main character, you're using a real early screen :P

Also, the crushed whites are there whenever the time freezes, it's a deliberate effect. The entire game doesn't look like that.

All I know is I cannot see where I am firing in combat and want it to stop. Hard to believe the same studio that made Max Payne did something so boneheaded.

I went back to Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow (Switch OLED) and finally figured out where to go. I was a bit lost on what to do. I found a nice area that has enemies that gives a lot o experience next to a save room. I was able to get my character from Level 27 to Level 42. I'm around 8 to 9 hours into the game. So far I'm loving the game especially the gameplay and graphics. Since this is one of the DS Castlevanias, the 2D Pixel Art is phononimal and the animation for my character attacks/movement and enemies are really detailed

I'm aiming for the True Ending and I only beat Harmony of Dissonance before. I plan to play the rest of the IGA Metroidvanias this summer. I got the True Ending for Harmony of Dissoanance and 💯 the castle. I want to try to do the same for everyone of them
 
I picked up Super Paper Mario dirt cheap from the pierced, disheveled, tripping over their lips folks at Cex.
I made the mistake of playing it pretty late in the evening after a few premium lagers, and the intro was so stupidly long that I fell asleep.
Looks promising though!
 
Sleeping dogs on pc played last time on the ps3 to bad we never got a sequel. And indiana jones and the great circle, story seems good just played 2 hours. Definitely better then the last movie (at least for me)

Latest Indy jones game is one of the best if not the best in the history of Indy games, but there is next to no replay value in it...(and I absolutely hated the fight with the Titanaboa like snake, that section alone of the game I dragged out which meant I didn't finish the game sooner than I could have...)
 
Vampire Hunter: Darkstalkers Revenge is a revelation! After the stiff and merciless Street Fighter 2, this Capcom masterpiece feels much more fluid and comfortable to play. This is certainly my favourite 2D fighting game right now! 😍

There are too many games to be played, it's terrible.

Like I get tons of "free" games on PS Plus each month (like Robocop which I always wanted to try), I buy a lot of games so I can play them "whenever I have time", some are still under blisters (Mario Party Jamboree, Super Mario Galaxy 1+2 HD, FF7 Remake Integrade), and I still bought 007 First Light on day one.
 
I beat Onimusha 2 today. I bought it when it launched on PS2 and fell off of it incredibly quickly. I played the Remaster on Deck. It's a really lovely game and that's probably where my praise for the game stops. The moment-to-moment action is fine and they do a good enough job of varying things up with multiple weapons and playing as the supporting cast for brief segments, but their isn't enough enemy variety and the boss battles are all terrible. And speaking of the supporting cast, the gift system is super weird and feels like it was shoe horned in at the last minute. It feels like a game I should love, but I just don't...at all.

I also picked up Idols of Ash since it was on sale and incredibly inexpensive. You are basically making your way down a chasm aided by a rope and a hook that attaches to surfaces to break your fall and let you swing to another foothold, all while being chased by a horrible Souls'like monster.

Lastly, I played Clover Pit which is Balatro except Slot Machines and a horror themed presentation. It's less interesting than Balatro as slots are less interesting than Poker, but the presentation goes a long way to keeping me engaged.

The addition of Donovan and return of amazing stages from the first were a huge treat. I think this game still has my favorite version of Rikuo. (Who do you main?)

Fired up Yakuza 6 for a bit, , mostly because I hadn't played mahjong for a while and I didn't feel like playing vs real people with a timer right now

About 11 hours into Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow (Switch OLED)

It's alot of fun and I just beat the fish boss where you have to avoid his attacks while he attacks you from below the water. That got me the swim ability. I'm at the underground area where lot of it is just traversing flooded ruins. I got to a save point and this looks to be another good grinding spot for me

I'm at Level 51
