Well if you know better, dont open a thread about it and whine about your amazon pruchases going south.

So the most likely outcomes are A) get a $3500 PC for $1500 or B) Amazon refunds the money because they are so huge and big everyone knows how their customer support works.

Small possibility for C) Sends a gimped PC with less RAM, that Amazon still refunds because it's the wrong item. Free PC.

I don't know better than to do this, why is it a bad idea?

OP is just sharing the journey, not whining about anything.

Since we're sharing stories, I ordered an LG ultrawide monitor from Amazon some years back.

Was supposed to be a Christmas gift and I ordered early enough for it to arrive on time.

The shipment was botched so bad I got it 3 weeks later.

I complained to Amazon that they ruined Christmas and argued enough about Prime shipping being false advertising and i could have bought it elsewhere and that i was a long time customer and spent a lot of money with them (all true by the way), that they let me keep it for free. At the time it was $700 or something.

Amazon can be pretty cool sometimes.

Not much online about it.

One I ordered was low volume enough that no one got a sample to review. Read that it was meant to be Corsair OEM build, but came too late.

My guess is that I might have bought one of the last remaining stock of this particular 395 model before ODMs all switch production to Gorgon Halo chips (495+).

I would record unboxing video, show untempered seal etc etc - incase there are bags of rice in there or something. I keep doing that with all the expensive items lately.
Yep, any kind of proof you can provide for your case the better. Just record yourself opening the sealed shipping box Shogmaster Shogmaster , with the bar code and info on the sticker on the outside of the box.

Didn't know you could diy mini PCs!

The more you know...
I mean, you can?
DIY NUC kits have been a thing since mini pcs have been a thing.
Also, getting one of these chinese prebuilts will almost certainly have soldered RAM...and not be a thing you would EVER want to log your real credentials into or attach to a network.

Every Strix Halo product has soldered on RAM by design so...

Ah, yes, that's true...but so are the other things that I said.
The DIY boards for Strix Halo 128GB DO exist.
That Frameworks board is more than what I paid for for this entire computer lol

[EDIT] HOLY FUCKING SHIT THEY BE CRAY CRAY! $2850 for just the damn board, SoC and RAM!
