Time flies so fucking rapidly. One of my fav Sony games, also that was when Druckmann still capable of writing charming characters.

I replayed Uncharted 4 a couple months ago and it's barely aged. Amazing game.

I know people will probably point to a scene in TLOU or something when they talk about realistic character interactions and acting in games, but this scene has always stuck with me more than any other scene in games.

Well the avatars looks cool at least.
Too bad the game is a fucking drag and boring.
Tim Cain had a video about having to make games for Journalist and influencers because it keeps people employed and I feel Uncharted 4 is a prime example that he's telling the truth that the industry moves this way.

Uncharted is the best video game series ever made, Uncharted 4 was amazing, but I need more Nathan Drake adventures in my life, I'm replaying the PS5 remaster of 4 right now and it's such a stunning game still.

Uncharted 4 is amazng game, wtf you talking about lol.

You'll have to clarify what you mean here.

We didn't know how good we had it. What a fucking travesty these last 10 years have been.

Yeah I hear you. Probably the best, if not one of the best depictions of a youngish couple at home simply discussing their day. The acting comes off perfectly natural, but then again everyone in that cast had spot on chemistry with each other.

Edit - It's weird, I've been thinking about this game for awhile recently and then this thread pops up and people on here have been bringing it up as of late. It's been years since I did a full replay of 4 and I barely touched the PS5 upgraded version.

It's gotta be 10 years at least since I played 2 & 3.

Its borderline a visual novel and the reviews mirror that because they talk about that b-movie tier story more than how it was the entire focus of the game.

People in this thread are talking about the story than mission design or set pieces.

How about a PS5 Pro update instead?

Not even asking them to fix Nadine's hair, that Iron Galaxy had at least the decency of fixing on PC after a while, or the countless little visual issues of this Legacy of Thieves release on both platforms, just a barebones PSSR implementation for fuck sake..

Sitting on a character like that and choosing not to use him simply because of Uncharted 4 ending is the #1 most retarded choice in gaming history.

He's a digital character, you can make 100 Uncharted games taking place in whatever point of his life without a single issue. I'd be buying Nate Uncharted games as well made as the original Trilogy till the day I die.

Apparentely they're afraid of making bank.

Love the Uncharted games. They were the reason why I always purchased a PlayStation at some point in the lifecycle. Replayed them dozens of times, loved the amazing feeling of going on an adventure, visiting remote secret locations, exploring stuff. But no chance we can get another good Uncharted game as long as Cuckmann is still around. I hope that guy vanishes soon enough.

You know that early bit in The Last of Us where the Fireflies cause an explosion outside the gates and you run back into a building with Tess, get a short tutorial on healing and a dude walks you through the hallways to a room with a bookshelf covering a hole.

That dude sounds so much like Nolan North doing his regular voice to me it's distracting.

I've never looked in the credits for Nolan North — Extras but I'm 70% sure it's him.

The PS3 and PS4, alongside Xbox in the 360 era, was incredible times.

Naughty Dog alone did Uncharted 1, 2, 3, 4, Uncharted Lost Legacy and The Last of Us in a 10 year span.

I think it's mostly because it's the 10 year anniversary. I know a couple of videos have popped up on my YouTube subscriptions about it. It got me really wanted to play one of the games again but I just replayed the original trilogy a few months ago alongside 4 shortly after and I played Lost Legacy about a year ago so the only one left is Golden Abyss.

As far as I know the only character he voiced in TLOU is David.

Literally the last thing I think about when talking Uncharted 4, personally.

This is the kind of stuff that usually occupies my mind whenever the game is mentioned.

Or how after 10 years this and Lost Legacy are still my favorite controlling third person games in existence.

Which is ironically tied to my issue with the game. Shooting feels too good so I want more, waaay more. The game gives me two-three waves of enemies per encounter? I want at least 12. Which is why I wish we could get a Drake's Fortune, which is a pure arcade TPS, Remake with Uncharted 4/Lost Legacy controls.

As for the rest, it surely felt different compared to the OG Trilogy both structurally and tone-wise. But it has grown on me, especially this gen.

Yeah, but those moments are few and far between. The multiplayer was pretty tits, though.

Uncharted is the best Sony franchise from the HD era. It's a shame it's apparently being sidelined because the new big decision-maker at Naughty Dog, Neil Druckmann, doesn't seem to like it. Maybe because it's too masculine for him. In the fourth game, where he had way more control, he ended up shoving in that ridiculous female character who can beat up a bunch of dudes without even getting touched... but then gets slapped in the face by the "toxic male" villain. It was such a cringe redemption tool to force us to accept her as the new "heroine."

I hope Sony has better plans than just PSN avatars, like giving the franchise to a studio that actually wants to continue it, or putting someone else in charge at Naughty Dog who's not stuck in Neil Druckmann's weird fetishes.

Where are the Western games for men these days?

Make masculinity great in AAA games again.

I always found 3 and 4 were o be a bit of a disappointment. They were great games still, just that I wanted them to be more fantastical like 1 and 2.

The Monkey Island reference is one of my favourite Easter eggs in UC4:

uncharted-4-monkey-island-Cropped.jpg
That's still the most involved Easter Egg I've ever seen in a game.

I mean it has to be, it goes on forever for the entire second half of the game. Starts with a sigil, then painting, then statues, then more paintings, then his mansion in Libertalia, ending with his actual corpse. Brilliant.

One thing I really loved about the Uncharted series was the detail in the artefacts you'd find. Up there with the best collectibles in any game.

uncharted 4: post last of us uncharted. no fun allowed uncharted. let's get all serious/grim/emotional. let's 'humanize' nate drake...

I found the "backstory" added to 4 infuriating for this reason. Not only did they excise anything that could be remotely supernatural (abandoning a genre convention because it wasn't grounded enough for Druckman), but they explicitly said Nate isn't related to Drake and it was all a front, which undermined the choice at the end of 3 and the character's mystique.

To all of you brothers missing Uncharted:

Still my favorite Trailer of all time.

I didn't really like part 4. But I'm weird- I still prefer the original game over all of the others mainly for the fact it was the introduction to these great characters and it felt the most like an Indiana Jones adventure to me. In fact, I FAR prefer the original trilogy over what came later on PS4.

Thanks LectureMaster LectureMaster for the heads up about the avatars!

This thread has really got me in the mood to get a good dose of Uncharted. It's also been several years since I played Uncharted 4 on PS4. I'm still rather new to PS5, so I'm installing the Legacy of Thieves Collection as I write this. I'm eager to see how much these games have improved on PS5.

I agree, they're fun to discover and look at in the game.

It would have been great if the games could have highlighted at least few of the artifacts with additional descriptive context. An in-game encyclopedia (perhaps with links to an online resource such as Wikipedia) would give curious players a way to delve deeper into the historical and cultural significance of the items.
