I have the correct preview update but missing the Xbox Mode.
I know there are workarounds but why is it a "hidden" functionality ? Instability ? Issues ?

I've got it now. Seems fine. I don't know if I'll use it.

My guess is that this won't be ready until they ship win12

is there a way to enable xbox mode as soon as the windows start after putting your login password ?

the xbox app it self opens. but it the whole thing doesnt open in xbox mode / full screen, i have to manually do it every time.

i believe i have the settings xbox compact mode enabled in the settings and start at boot. but still doesnt go to xbox mode by it self.

"This guy" knows his stuff, produces one of the best Win decrappifier utilities and in general is worth at least a listen or a read.

Chris Titus has reasonably high praise for this new mode. For someone who unapologetically hates Windows and has done great work in making less bloated this is a pretty good sign and actually has me somewhat excited about this new Xbox mode. Short version, its far from perfect, but worth paying attention to.

XBOX mode is so good that Microsoft should suddenly release more console-looking SFF PCs with an Xbox controller and bundled with a few months of Game Pass. Seriously, this could have been done before Helix with the technology currently on the market.

It would be a massive success!

I am not seeing it. I have toyed around with it. It needs lots of optimization for it to work properly. Can't even see my own games I purchased on their own store. I have to search for them manually.

Not to mention the steam integration in the app it self is garbage. You better off running steam big picture mode.

Like when it says check on steam , it breaks the controller and you will have to use key card and noise because steam didn't open in big picture mode from the Xbox app. Not sure if there is a fix for it or not

It works perfectly for me, my game appears immediately when I buy it from any store, responsive and nicely organized UI. Also, it can be controlled with a controller just like a console. I think a couple of updates and the integration of external stores will also make it more stable.

Being knowledgeable doesn't make you immune to being annoying…

Seems quite a bit less if you first optimized but this is really a no brainer if didn't and for handhelds.
