Wow, what a throwback. Used to go there all of the time back in the 2007 or 8.

Yup they have finally killed the comments section. Thing is the site has been broken for a while.. laggy loads, constant errors.. it needed it. Worst part of N4G was the mods, some of them are fully fanboys and would fan the flames of console wars to drive traffic.
Used to visit it religiously just to be on top of all gaming news, but stopped years ago and never looked back. Sad to see the communities die though.. some good peeps on there. Did enjoy the comments sections though, now no reason at all to visit the site.

I noticed it the other day and laughed , I was there since 2008 and got banned like so many last year because the Sony ponies couldn't handle the justified criticism being thrown at them the past few years . I've checked the site every couple month since to see how bad it kept getting, the only posts commented on were people glazing PS sales numbers and circle jerking each other while downvoting and spam reporting everyone else.
That's about the time I found Neogaf and it's been super refreshing , every other gaming site a scouted was woke trash or seemed super biased towards particular thing

Yeah, the quality of the content is just horrible. It is a breeding ground for click bait for sites like thegamer and gamerant. The people who used to post there weren't that bad, but the discussion reflected the horrible content.
Curating the content was a good move.

Not sure, but after around 2009/2010 I got banned and never looked back. The ban was for a few years and I talked shit and it went to 9 years.
Not really bitter. But a nice Fuck You out of nowhere to the staff, if they should find this thread? What's the harm?

Probably back in 2010s, but now? The site went crashing down after the launch of the PS4, who the hell even cares about it anymore
Site was peak console wars, but when the PS4 got the gen on lock, the xbox branch fizzled out and the Nintendo one was long gone, that was after the Wii U failed miserably and their prediction about the Industry collapsing didn't come true, that was in 2012-2014

It was junk. Long time ago my friends had a small game site. This was the tail end of the 360 gen. They told me they'd try getting their article published but would usually get voted down by users. Then youd see all these other indie articles posted. So there probably was some form of buddy buddy system where they'd work together to approve some and deny others. Like how Digg would do that with lots of power users purposely upvoting certain people's content.

Once upon a time it had Xbox, Nintendo and ps gamers. Hack of a site, with no talent, no writers, no content creators just steal other peoples content and push it out to get clicks. It's sucked for a long time….im not sure when it happened. I never engaged with the community but it was for a long time my go to place for games news. Then it just became crappier and crappier in some intangible way. I then increasingly migrated to gaf and have hardly been there for years.
