Nintendo announces Star Fox for Nintendo Switch 2, releasing June 25, 2026

Looks pathetic. I was so positive about the Switch 2. THe hardware was really great, and Nintendo just got back to its old lazy self. THese fuckers should always be on the verge of dying to keep them on the edge.

Watching this I never realized how much Star Fox looks like a blatant rip off of Star Wars...it's basically X Wing Rebel Alliance but with animals...

This looks really good to me. I love Star Fox 64 and still play it from time to time, so I'm down for this. I hope this is testing the waters in a cheaper way to gauge interest in Star Fox and, if successful, we get a brand new Star Fox title styled like this!

The only thing I don't 100% like is the character designs. I miss the old weird looking avatars and how they moved - but understandable why this was changed in the facelift edition. Also not sure they will have all my classic lines, nor that the delivery will be perfect. But I'm okay with that. Fox also looks sort of fat in the face. I really like the motion tracking for the avatar, but I'll never use that feature. Cool none the less.

What's lazy about this? Aside from not being a new game? Looks like a bit of work was put into this but maintaining what worked really well - the core game. I mean, if you don't want a remake, that's fine. But I'm pleased with it. It's not just some uprez re-release..

I really didn't want another 64 remake but this is a safe choice, the series needs a hit. the multiplayer/co op modes and story expansion looks good and there's a rumored second Star Fox title that is supposed to be more like Star Fox Adventures ( I think some accounts of this rumor are calling it a SFA remake) so I can live with this. I'm excited for it.

Fourth version of Star Fox 64, could have been better but I'll take it, at least Nintendo is trying to revive the franchise.

The character models look like the animatronics from Chuck e Cheese.
Holy shit that's where I've seen those designs before lmaooo

Huh. Seems like it'll be $50. That's surprising.

Don't tell Reggie that I would've paid $70

"thanks for your 30 years support to play Starfox 64 AGAIN!!"

I love that game, but come on man make a true sequel.

At least the game is not 100% mouse controls.

Looks great, releases in a month too. I have a $25 Target gift card I've been sitting on, so it looks like I'll use it for this.

I'm assuming Nintendo is doing shadow direct drops because they're fed up with all the leaks lately. The OoT leak must've really set them off.

Looked really cool to me, different control configs seem optional so that's cool, I like the visual style from what was shown, full voice acting.

Looks fun

A 27th re-release of Star Fox 64 (which was a mediocre game even in 1997, sorry not sorry), but no new F-Zero because they apparently have no ideas for the franchise. Great stuff as always, Nintendo. At least you're apparently admitting that Sega made a better entry in your series than you ever did or ever could.

Yeah seems like laziness to me. Another Nintendo game I don't really care about I guess
It's even worse because it's not even an original game that looks like shit, it's another remake of Starfox 64 that looks like shit.

At this point I just feel bad for Starfox fans.

For me although would have loved a new starfox game, loved starfox on Nintendo 64 and this to me looks a good update, a deffo purchase for me, looking like it could be remaster n64 time this yr with this coming out and the rumoured Zelda

God damn that looks great. I enjoy every Starfox game, but 64 was the peak.

I am down for physical, n64 pad and a summer getting every medal.

*pad now on order

I wish it was a new game with new levels, but I think they nailed everything else. The people complaining about the characters obviously don't remember the original SNES puppets. The realistic style, the newly recorded soundtrack, it's all I would have wanted from Star Fox when I was a kid. I kinda wish they had remade the original along with it for a 2 game remake, and then have that lead up to an all new game in the same vein, but oh well. Way, way, too many remakes these days but I do think it looks good for what it is.
