Saros just launched to strong reviews but debuted at #3 on the UK physical charts, behind Tomodachi Life (which in itself is hilarious) on Switch and the old Cyberpunk 2077 (a game that came out 6 years ago). A new full-priced PS5 exclusive getting smoked by a cozy Nintendo meme game and a half-decade-old multiplat is actually brutal.
Saros physical sold out at a lot of places including amazon. You can't really use that for much.
Returnal only sold 10k first week and debuted similarly.

Not really. I think about selling my Pro almost weekly. Haven't powered it on in a while now. Possible Pragmata, 007, and GTA purchases are keeping it around tbh. Wolverine might be cool idk. Feel like I could just play all this stuff a few years down the line when the PS6 comes out (if I think it's worth buying). I play the shit out of my Steam Deck though. I've put an insane amount of hours into Slay the Spire 2.

I'd suggest looking at the sales figures for Insomniac's Spider-Man games, then. Might surprise you.
I honestly couldn't even tell you whether they're still making Marvel films

I wasn't suggesting Marvel lost popularity over 20 years ago, that's just when I lost interest. I know there have been massively successful films since then. It just seems like the buzz has died in the past 5 years or so.

They need to get their shit together.

I'm sure wolverine will have great combat and graphics, but if the story is woke I will pass on it.

I liked Astro Bot a lot.

Wolverine is a wait and see. Being a big Naughty Dog fan, I'm excited for Intergalactic. Looking forward to Barlog's next game. But really these games are just so few and far between. I see more third party games to get excited about than anything else.

But that's also true of Microsoft and Nintendo games for me. First party this gen has been a bit of a dud.
Me too about wolverine. I dont like spoilers but for ps exclusive i really have to check the story from video playthrough, first before i buy it. Also wait and see for intergalactic, the actress back ground and the way she speak is a red flag already.

I was excited for Yotei, I'm curious to see how Wolverine pans out and I'm absolutely hyped to see Intergalactic in action. Love Death Stranding so Sony ditching out money for Kojima to make his wacky games exclusive to Playstation for a time is also a plus for me.
Saros doesn't interest me, same as Returnal so I guess Housemarque games just aren't my thing.
Couldn't care less about Santa Monica and Guerrilla these days.

Actress background is largely irrelevant. People tried to say otherwise with Ghost of Yotei but that proved to be bullshit entirely.

SBI's involvement with Wolverine has me concerned. Why the hell anyone would hire them.......I have no idea.

All my favorite Sony games are dead franchises and have been for a long time now.
All my favorite PS1 and PS2 game series are on Steam, so... I couldn't care less about present Sony.

Ehh DKB is one of the best platformers I've ever played if not best, Pokemon ZA is the best Pokemon game I've played in a very long time, Mario Kart definitely needs more content but the gameplay is amazing and it's got an incredible foundation, the s2 patches of BOTW and TOTK make it feel fresh to me and I'm very excited about Pokopia my backlog is just too big. Not bad given it recently came out, but I realize some of these, like Pokemon, aren't for everyone

Me personally? No, not really.
I'm still mildly interested in some of them like Saros, but I put them all in the "buy when on sale for 50% or less category". Still haven't picked up stuff like Death Stranding 2, Ghost of Yotei or even Spiderman 2.

People in general?
I think they do. Yotei sold really well, SpiderMan 2 sold really well, Horizon sells well, Wolverine will probably be big, and I think despite the online hate campaign they'll get, Intergalactic and Santa Monica's Girlboss of war will do fine.

For normies, yes. For people like me, hell no. No interest in their ugly, lesbian girlboss sims.

Give me AstroBot 2 and then they can fuck off essentially. Tbf, that extends to Xbox as well.

Loved DKB, but I'm just not a big Nintendo guy. That and Botw are two games I enjoyed quite a bit, but beyond that......Nintendo games are just not for me.

After Ragnarok I reached my limit. Bloated 40 hour movie games aren't in my purview anymore and why I love(d) Returnal so much.

For sure, I still think this situation might be a bit distinguishable

I'm of the position that Nintendo continues to make games that their core base likes

This thread is putting out the hypothesis that Sony is not doing the same

In the real world Yotei was fantastic, Death Stranding 2 was fantastic, Saros is fantastic and the same will be for Wolverine (that will easily sell 10m+ units), Marvel Tokon and the new Kena. Intergalactic will probably set new standards next year for cinematic third person games.

People unhappy are mostly some console warriors that were never interested in Sony's games and some people that have taken this woke vs anti-woke idiocy too seriously and think Sony's games are not on their side.
Shocking! :pie_roffles: ( and quite frankly irrelevant).

I thought Sony was the most popular console. Wouldn't the console warriors skew the poll in favor of Sony? Vast majority of people are not interested in Sony games.

I suggest you actually read the thread and see the posts by all the long time Sony fans who are not happy with Sony, it might be a bit eye-opening

Fair. To your point, as a PlayStation fan my dissatisfaction with Sony has increased progressively this gen. A stark contrast to last gen. PlayStation first party studios have just been poorly managed. I'm hoping the change in leadership will address that.

I have reached the cranky in the phases of old man. Sony needs to show me something to get excited about. Wolverine? Maybe. Intergalactic? Hopefully. I am at a weird place in gaming. I have more than enough to play but I am disappointed with all three console makers this generation.

Literally lost all my good will with Sony. To the point I want a big distance from their games.
I remember being excited with Wolverine when announced. Now I'm just wondering whats the next type of heavy pandering they gonna force in the game. Will Jean Grey be a lesbian? Maybe Wolverine first love will be a lesbian. Will Wolverine stay the same or will he cry like a soyboy? Maybe he will be a man lover.

My PS5 is officially a third party console .No more Sony games for me. I pity anyone who is excited for Intergalatic Lesbian by Cuckman.

No, after Spiderman 2 and GoW Ragnorak, I lost interest in Sony's brand of cinematic games… poor narratives, unlikeable characters, dumb humour, lengthy cutscenes with added long forced walk and talk sections. The only game of interest to me from them was Astro Bot but it wasn't worth keeping their console when I saw what else they had announced for the future.

They were overrated from the start.

People acting like an entire console generation is ruined just because of Sony's output will never not be hilarious.

Planning to play Wolverine around PS6 launch, so no, I got nothin that exciting this year. Next year could be different...

Phantom Blade Zero will likely become the best action game of this gen.

As for Wolverine, it will be fine, some wokeness sprinkled in it, but a solid game overall.

No. I don't trust them to release anything good anymore, so I'm not gonna get excited beforehand. But they could still deliver an excellent game. Theoretically.

I loved their games up through the late PS3 era, but i really disliked the flood of cinematic third-person action-adventure titles from the PS4 generation onward and they're kind of overdoing the Marvel superhero stuff, which are also cinematic third-person action-adventures. There are only three Sony games after the PS3 era that I truly love; two of them are VR titles and one is a remaster.

Between wokeness and GAAS thers very little to be excited about Sony IPs. Gran Turismo is the only IP left i care about. None of they big studios is developing a game i want to play, its actually crazy considering past gens alot of Sony IPs were day 1 games for me.

I've bought ZERO Sony games so far, but I'm moderately interested in Wolverine.

However, if I detect even the slightest scent of WOKE DEI crap, I'm not buying period.

A single NPC with they/them pronoun is more than enough for me to NOT purchase a game no matter how good it is.

I'm not going to get lectured by mentally ill people in a game that I paid for.

Paid $500 for my PS5 and now they cost $650. I got the system with the disc drive built in, not the separate disc drive that needs to be connected to the net to activate it.

Decided to re-purchase a PS4 Pro to play my PS4 discs, because if the PS5 breaks I'm not buying another one. Don't see myself buying any more PS consoles.

Very much so. Saros is basically the sequel to one of my favorite games this year. Wolverine should be good bloody fun. Intergalactic will no doubt have great gameplay if nothing else. Release cadence aside, my only real disappointment was Ragnarok and Concord/Marathon although not from a live service aspect of them but ultimately the execution of them. Give me an improved Days Gone 2 for an incredible gen.

Absolutely nothing left that would interest me even in the remotest. I used to love Uncharted and God of War and would usually buy a PlayStation only to play those. Now Uncharted is dead, and I won't touch anything ND as long as Cuckmann is in charge. GoW: Ragnarök's Gaytreus was annoying as fuck, so I don't think I'll ever return to a God of War game unless they return to the old-school formula. Nothing to look forward to. Oh yeah, there is a game in development with a disgusting, bald female protagonist that triggers my gag reflex as soon as I see it. Then there's woke garbage like Saros (we have a whole thread about it here, so no need to go into detail). Man, Sony is dead to me.

Intergalactic has my interest. I would love a sci-fi space opera.

I'm very skeptical of Wolverine. Wolverine as a character doesn't lend itself to variety. While I have faith in Insomniac, I just can't image where the fun is going to come from, after the initial wow of the gore systems wears off. It would be a good thing to be proven wrong.
