3D World by a mile.

Wonder wasn't bad, but its core conceit of "put one of like 5 gimmicks in every level that do nothing to make the actual platforming exciting" got old fast.

Both games were on the easy side (Wonder far more so), but 3D World was still so enjoyable to just run and jump through that I didn't really care. I frequently think about wanting to replay 3D World, but the thought has never come up with Wonder. Are the new levels or whatever out? I guess I don't really intend to play them either way.

Super Mario Wonder is just another New Super Mario Bros. game with a new gorgeous coat of paint. To me, it was disappointing in that regard. For a game that has inventive gameplay, they chose to repeat one lame boss 4 times? Then, for the DLC, yet the Koopalings yet another time (although some were done a little better). Another disappointing things was the wonder flowers. They should not repeat, as well as the music. Every level should've had their own unique effect.

They're both amazing, but I think I'd give the edge to Wonder. But I won't know for sure until like 4 or 5 years from now after things have had time to marinate.

The thing about 3D World was that the bosses were repetitive. That annoyed me.

Not certain about Wonder's bosses.

3D World is my favorite Mario game EVER!

Wonder never had a chance. I like Wonder a lot, but never finished it. Bowser's Fury was also good.

Wonder is pathetically easy to the point where it undermined the platforming just like Astrobot.

Very disappointed by Wonder because it signifies Nintendos current design philosophy which is making everything far too easy. Just look at Switch 2 games.

2d Mario games were always a respectful difficulty. Not Wonder. Even if you play without those badges its still too easy.

That's my biggest gripe with the game - it's insultingly easy. I'd rather play New Super Mario Bros U or any of the other games in the NSMB series instead of it.

Wonder isn't a bad game but I think it's the weakest 2D entry outside of NSMB2 on 3DS. It relies too much on wonder flower gimmicks. Outside of the gimmicks the levels aren't very interesting, and the gimmicks usually aren't good enough to make up for that. Would have been better to have the gimmicks in some levels rather than every level and focus on making the regular running/jumping challenge more interesting.

3D World/Land are the closest Nintendo has ever come to Mario 3 in 3D. They're vanilla Mario action, but very well executed. I 100% World on Wii U and again years later on Switch, and it holds up. Bowser's Fury is great too.

3D takes the mightiest shit in all of mankind's history, right smack on top of Wonder. Wonder was short and too damned easy. I barely had to think when I played it.
It was so easy, it was like ultra instinct took over for the majority of the game, and to think they want to add a feature where the game beats itself. Smfh..

Both games are excellent but I'd give the edge to 3D World. Wonder needed a bit more difficulty spread throughout instead of just a brutally difficult final level.

3D world has level design, exploration, some awesome platforming.

Wonder has audio visual presentation.

3D World is better for me, couldn't finish Wonder.

I haven't played 3d World yet, but Mario Wonder is one of the most disappointing games I've ever played. I think it's the only Mario game I've ever disliked. The gimmicks get old very quickly.

I think it is close but 3D world is better.
Then again I have beaten 3D world 2.5x and only ever 100%ed Wonder once. Maybe on replay and with the new Switch 2 content it can edge it out.

Both are excellent for different reasons. To me, 3D Mario and 2D Mario games scratch slightly different itches.

I disagree on the repeat. Played it with my kids and it was nice to get another take on one that was fun. The wonder flowers are a pretty great addition to Mario and I would take another game that has more and repeats some of the ones we already had.

If this question is really, which should I buy, then 3D world because it also has Bowser's Fury. If it is which is best, it probably depends on whether you like 3D platforming more than 2D.
